JBob, I hope you are vaccinated(?) and it helps you recover more quickly. Please touch base as you are now on the Texags radar! Prayers for a speedy recovery.

I am doing okay, good folks of TexAgs. Know that I love you all. For the most part my O2 levels are hanging in there. We are so blessed to have Caprock Hospital here. SUCH wonderful people!
I am going to be completely honest. Yes. I wish I had been vaccinated. I am still against mandates, but looking at all evidence, getting vaccinated is the best move, in my opinion. Given the alternatives, I see no reason to purposely avoid vaccination. And I take no offense at being asked the question.
I knew someone was going to go there. Surprised it took so long though.bay fan said:

The guys are in the hospital and we all want them to get better. I am sure they are getting lots of seriousness there. If they are checking here, they probably want Texags to be Texags.t - cam said:Another Doug said:

This is absolutely the wrong thread for this not funny banter.

Agreed. Guys, I know it's easy (and human nature) to sort into camps over divisive issues like this (it's unfortunate that it's divisive at all, but that's a separate issue) and get tribal vax v. Anti-vax. And when we do that, I think it's human nature to slightly lose sight of the empathic human aspect. This is a thread for empathy and support. Of course, I want to see everyone who's able to get vaccinated because I am saddened seeing threads like this, but I don't know that asking that question off the bat when a fellow Ag is struggling is the right approach. Let's focus on love and commonalities here: we are Ags and are united by our apparent unhealthy enough obsession with Aggie football to pay for a subscription to bicker about the 2 deep .t - cam said:Another Doug said:

Take moment to look at what "winning" and "losing" looks like here, and stop treating this like a game.

Belief systems change slowly.
I understand your thinking Plano and your numbers are very similar to mine, so I get it. I would talk to your doc and see what he/she recommends. I understand it's a personal decision, so just to share a bit since we're in similar circumstances as far as BMI and age (I'm 29). I chose to get the vax in part because my cousin who is also >40 and in good shape had a terrible time with COVID (lost 20 pounds, not in a good way), so it does happen. I realize that's anecdotal and it's rare, but I also hate missing work, so I thought if this keeps me from losing a week, worth it!planoaggie123 said:
Well said. The snarky comments from vax towards anti vax only hurts. I am not anti vax but have been slow to get covid vax. I am getting close but to be honest the self righteous post make me want to try and prove I can win without.
Why don't we all just leave it alone and let the data speak for itself. Lift one another up and not bash. Not many hesitant vax
people are "anti vax" and most support those that got it. Many like me just want to see more data and time. If I was higher risk I would have gotten but I am under 40, 22.8 BMI and normal blood pressure (check daily).

YMMV, but here on TexAgs and my Facebook Feed the snarky posts from antivaxers out number the posts encouraging vaccination by a large percentage. Plus the snark factor for the antivaxers is a lot more vehement and persistent.

1st off Rex glad you're doing better and for being honest with your response! I quoted this post of yours in the thread about the Ag on the fence about getting vaccinated, figured you wouldn't mind but if you want I'll remove it.Rex Racer said:The Ragonk Strikes Back said:Do you regret not getting vaccinated?Rex Racer said:

Based on my numbers I am likely fine but you once again prove the self righteousness.

I don't think a lot of you folks understand the hesitancy. Like I mentioned earlier I've been very anti-vaccine, but that is THIS vaccine. I'm not an anti-vaxxer. I don't think you can classify anti-COVID folks in with anti-vaxxers. My kids and I have all been vaccinated for the normal things throughout our lives. For me the hesitancy is the politicization of it all by various folks in various governments throughout the country. Some of the very people that are pushing the vaccine down everyone's throats and mandating it were saying 15 months ago that they weren't going to take "Trump's vaccine". CDC has flip flopped on masks and guidelines dozens of times to where Fauci should resign in disgrace in my opinion. I don't trust the people running the country and their data can be made up. I did consulting back in the day, it's pretty easy to manipulate data to get the results you want...lol.Hey Zeus said:
