I may do that, then. Something about taking a full dose feels off.

Sorry to hear that. I'm praying now.Rex Racer said:
My 86 year old father tested positive today. He's fully vaccinated. Please keep him in your prayers. Obviously, he did not catch it from me. I haven't seen him for a couple of months.
Thanks, my friends.
My parents are 81 and 79. Both vaxxed and both healthy but my greatest fear was that I would give it one of them. Stuff of nightmares.Rex Racer said:

So far, he's doing okay. Just a little cough. Hopefully, that's all this is for him.curry97 said:
Rex, how is your dad doing?

So far, so good. His O2 levels have been 97-98 consistently. He has our whole hometown and family checking on him and bringing him food, mowing his yard. My Dad is a great guy. Of course he has lived in my hometown for 53 years or so.

Question for this who went through it - how many treatments of the remdesivir before you showed any progress? I'm currently on high flow oxygen and as long as I'm not moving around too much I'm sitting at 98 to 100

Figure I'll start my little covid journal here since I've been reading this thread for a while. I had not gotten vaccinated, but had actually decided I was going to and then got it almost immediately. Tested positive last Wednesday 9/8, with a fever and sore throat. Wife also tested positive with sinus pressure.
By Saturday, I had no symptoms at all and thought I had beaten it. Sunday I started to cough a little, Monday coughed a little more, and Tuesday night pretty much coughed up orange crap all night long. Went in to do the monoclonal injection, and instead got admitted about 10:30AM this morning. It's great encouragement to see the posts from the others on here.
Notes from first day - started remdesivir and the antibody infusion a little while ago. The shot in the stomach is not fun. I'm in an ER room and don't even have a trailer so this is going to get old fast I think.

Thanks for the replies all. I know this is a long road ahead and seeing other perspectives is helping me keep it together tonight after the first phone call home to the kids that don't really understand why I'm not home.
Apparently they've been blasting me with oxygen all day at 60L. Said they are going to be weening me down overnight to something more maintainable. Currently sitting at 94. Did they try to put any of you on the ventilator? I really hate the idea of that and my wife is freaking out because they already said if I can't hold 93 pretty consistently that I'm headed to one.
Thanks again everyone.

So both my parents, age 75 and 74, were diagnosed and hospitalized at the same time with Covid. Long story short, they are both out and doing well. Both have other health conditions, so it was quite a trying time.
I had to go in and take care of them, get them into the hospital, care for them as they have got out. I knew I was likely to test positive.
I am vaccinated and age 48 in 3 days. My symptoms started Sept 10 as sinus allergy, mild cough, headache, sore throat and tired.
I found it hard to get tested with rapid results..but did an at home test Monday night that showed positive, although I was not sure. I did a drive thru test at Walgreens...waiting two to five days on that result ( which should be positive), and did another at home test today (Wednesday the 16th) that showed a definite positive.
I felt bad Friday, Sat, Sun and Monday. Treated with OTC medicines and started to feel better Tuesday and on into Wednesday. I was able to contact my doctor as a virtual visit and get referral for infusion treatment. My doctor said my condition seemed to be mild and thinks the infusion will not harm me and thinks my condition will improve after the injection...which I will get tomorrow.
Should I expect to get worse. I don't seem to feel bad at all after my initial 4 days.
