That's awesome that amidst all the chaos surrounding a very efficacious, simple safe guard you were able to reopen your mind. Though I hope you don't need the help from the vaccine, it seems foolish to plan on not! I am going to be completely honest. Yes. I wish I had been vaccinated. I am still against mandates, but looking at all evidence, getting vaccinated is the best move, in my opinion. Given the alternatives, I see no reason to purposely avoid vaccination. And I take no offense at being asked the question.
I started a thread last week about being on the fence.
Up until about 2 weeks ago I was 100% against the vaccine.
My mother ( low 60's) got the vaccine couple months ago, I was actually upset she got it... she was only one in family to get vaccine at that time.
My wife got vaccinated last week.. tomorrow me and my dad (mid 60's) have appointments to get vaccinated.
Also, this board has had first hand experience with lives lost, including a doctor and now thankfully the influence of Rex and JBob coming forward with their experiences is helping whole families like yours. Thanks for speaking up!

I have somehow NOT lost my taste or smell through this thing. So odd. Cracker Barrel and I are best buds!
I lost it some back early on but never completely. I love how they are always asking if I'm ready for more food.
I did learn that if you walk into the waiting room at the doctor's office and run into someone you know, you shouldn't say you are there for a covid test. One woman looked really shaken and left. Another went to talk to the nurses for a minute or two before sitting down further away from me.
Kind of common sense there should be a better protocol for a Covid test. Most common is someone comes to your car and does it through a window. No offense but I sure as heck wouldn't want to be in the waiting room with you.

For covid, they used to have you wait in your car until they were ready. I did try to stay at least 10 feet from everyone else. Then the problem is your doctor. That's not a policy conducive to reducing spread. In fact, personally I'd find a new doctor.

I was going to another doctor in a small city 50 miles from the office for a while, but the one in the county is a better doctor who provides better care. Also, you can usually get an appointment for the same day. The last few times I tried to make an appointment at the doctor 50 miles away, the wait time was at least a week.
You don't need to explain yourself to this d-bag. You did what your doctor told you to do.

Not to derail your thread Rex, but I am currently laid at St. Joe's with Covid pneumonia. Tested positive on the 24th, started taking everything as suggested but it didn't help I guess. Hope you and jbob recover quickly. I am 47, with no health issues.
So sorry to hear that. I will put you in my prayers. This pneumonia is tough. Have they started remdisvir?
Getting my first dose here in a few minutes. The pneumonia is hell.
I took my last dose yesterday and I'm feeling much better. Still on oxygen but it is turned way down low. Stay strong and keep the faith brother.

They did a 5 day treatment for me. I checked in on Friday and got my first dose and finished yesterday. They are still giving me steroids through my iv to help with my lungs.
Last question, I promise. How many doses did it take before you noticed improvement?
I would say after my 3rd dose. I felt terrible when I got here since my oxygen was down in the 70's, so that had a lot to do with how I felt for the first few days. What is your oxygen at?
