Are the baggers at HEB trained to not stay at one check out line even though multiple people are in line? I have noticed baggers finish bagging for one customer and then dart off while the next customers groceries are moving to the bagging area.

'Darting' that is day 4 of the training.

Don't really have anything to add other than to say I love HEB and fear the day I ever have to move someplace that doesn't have them. It really is the model for what a grocer should be.

Appreciate all y'all do in Hurricane season, normal business times, and now pandemic panic season. Stay safe and keep up the good work!

Agree with what PWestAg18 said. HEB is an amazing company and should be proud of the product and service that they are able to deliver during VERY unique events. Cheers!

I have been to several HEB's since this started (Only grocery store in San Antonio) and the customers and partners have been incredible. Everyone has been nice and helpful, providing 411 to each other. My brother shops at Walmart and the stories coming out of there haven't been as nice. Thanks for what y'all are doing. You've been thrust onto the front lines and you're handling it.

HEB in Sugar Land/Mo City was pretty calm when I went today at 10am. No TP and frozen veg was picked over... but plenty of fresh meat, dry food, deli meat/cheese, milk, frozen meals, produce, etc. Walked right up to an open checkout line.

Busier than a normal sun morning but almost every checkout line was staffed.

Hey Atag... I'm trying to set up a curbside for later in the week. I keep getting a message that HEB servers can't keep up with demand. Has that been happening? Should I try again later or just forget about curbside?

Went to sienna plantation heb around 530pm today and found it to be similar. Was happy to get my normal stuff for the week to add to some stocked up stuff.

try another store if you dont mind driving. There are only so many slots in a given day and obviously considering the circumstances plus the fact that it's free right now, things are crazy. My store (harpers trace) is new and less known so its not as busy. I believe the rayford sawdust store did not have a lot of regulars either. Keep trying other stores near you that might be newer or smaller that you don't mind driving to.

Thanks for all of the updates.

I just setup a curbside pickup at my local HEB at 10 am on Thursday. That appears to be the earliest time slot they are offering.

I am clean out of paper towels and eggs. Hopefully I will be able to secure some.

God Bless HEB and all of their partners! Everyone we come across there are positive, professional and willing to help out wherever they are asked. The shelves are empty in spots, but we can make do with what we find for our week at home.

Suggestion for curbside/delivery ordering: Rather than having to attempt multiple trips to go to 2 of my local HEBs to try to find TP (we're down to 3 rolls)...and we go almost daily trying to see if we just 'happen' upon some...have the online ordering to where you can order and whenever it is in stock, the order is in a priority virtual line to be fulfilled and notification is sent that my order is fulfilled and ready for pickup.

The HEB by me has been really good, but surprisingly the Kroger is doing really good too. It is good to see them both stepping up.

I ordered Curbside Saturday morning and found that the next available pickup was today at Noon.

Picked up the order, and they are still out of bread, tp, apples and pears. Madness.

I considered submitting a new order because we are out of bread, and the next available curbside time is
Saturday. So..order your curbside now I guess if you want groceries this weekend.

Went to Kroger's mid-morning today at 529/Barker-Cypress in Cypress. Got burgers and chicken and shrimp and pretty much everything else we needed minus Lysol and toilet paper. No crowds, no rush.

What is the story with the egg pipeline? I have 5 left in my fridge. I stopped today after work (limit 2 per customer), and they slap out. The Natural Grocer down the street was out too (limit 4 per customer).

Apparently everybody has now decided that they definitely need to eat loads of eggs. My cousin is even trying to rationalize her purchases because they eat so many eggs in their home. People are crazy.

Still looking for disinfectant wipes. For this supply line, do you have a sense of when the trucks unload?

I would like to say again that it would be very helpful for a senior such as myself to have an hour with seniors only. We have to get out to get food.

I haven't seen any ground beef in my store in several days.

You are very kind! I don't want to trouble anyone. I guess I'm going to have to use doordash, etc.

It would just be a good idea to limit seniors' exposure and the store could help quite a bit in that regard. It's counterproductive to have to drop in several times a day in the hope that there's some ground beef or eggs.

I wouldn't want anyone else having that exposure, either.

Again, thank you for your suggestion.

We aren't big egg people, maybe a dozen a month. Went ahead and picked up a dozen because of the kid. Pancakes are a fun breakfast she can "help" with and also loves to "help" make cookies. Good way to kill time, have fun, and make something to eat.

I'm sure others are hoarding but that was our thought process.

We average about one dozen a week in our home, and I am usually the primary consumer. Bought a dozen last Wednesday, and I am almost out.

As other have noted, the three HEBs closest to our house are pretty much out of a lot of staples - eggs, milk, bread, potatoes, ground meat (and almost all other meats), not to mention all the other dry goods discussed.

We started slowly stocking up on canned goods about a month ago ( soups, tuna, chili, etc). Haven't dipped into it, but I am glad we have it.

People are losing their GD minds.

In just about the same spot as you. Started stocking up about a month ago adding extra cans/meat per trip. Don't want to dip into that yet. Will see how evrything looks at the end of the week. Of course, with Dallas and Ft. Worth effectively shutting down eat out options I'm not too hopeful.

I have about 14 eggs left of a dozen and a half I got ten days ago. Egg salad sandwiches are a favorite of mine and I also need them for a number of my recipes. Will not be having any for egg salad till I can get a second dozen somewhere. I have everything to make a giant meatloaf that will feed me for a few days, but can't make it without eggs. I grew up far from a grocerty store so I always have ground meat, ground turkey and some chicken breasts in the freezer for cooking. Chicken is my least favorite and never eat it alone, but I like some things made with it. I also need eggs for making cornbread to go with the frozen black eyed peas I am waiting to cook with a ham hock and for when I make chili with some more of my ground meat.

And realize some people's abiltiy to cook starts and ends with omelets.

I was in line at my local HEB this morning when it opened and got almost everything on my list minus hand sanitizer and some very specific things. I was part of the second group that got into the store, and there was plenty of any staple you would have wanted.
