No flour at the HEB at 6 and 90A in Sugar Land, either...but plenty of fish, fruit and greens.

Also, anyone had Terry Black's Central Texas BBQ sauce? That's all that was left, and needed some for a recipe.

There's none, anywhere. Hubs found a couple packets in Kenedy but no flour of any kind.
I know. Everyone bakes all of a sudden.
Folks are going to um, look a little different when they show back up to work.

HEB has done a great job with the supply chain and customer service.

However, with regard to disinfectant wipes, I had the most luck with Target. For example, this morning I was able to secure a 4 pack ($9.99) of the Target brand - if you are also interested, be sure to arrive at 7:45 or so to queue for the 8 am opening. (Also, Tuesday and Wednesday 8:00 - 9:00am might be reserved for senior citizens., depending upon location.)

I now have at least 5 wipes containers in reserve most days, and usually hit up Target at least twice a week.

Just checking this to see if things were back to normal at HEB. I see they still are not. I was thinking of making the drive to Burleson, but not worth it if they still don't have things. I just ate my last frozen precooked bacon cheeseburger patty. So yummy.

And I am out of their coffee which is my favorite on earth.

But until things are available, I will do my once a month grocery shopping here in Arlington. If I have to deal with nothing available, then I might as well stay home.

And yes people seem to be baking. I have not been able get vanilla frosting or powdered sugar so I can make my own the last two kroger curbsided or my shipt shopping venture at Target.

I certainly hope HEB will limit purchases of meat products with the inevitable panic that will take place considering the reporting that with some processors closing there will be shortages.

The reporting alone will create shortages just like toilet paper.

We've done really well on toilet paper.

Both bathrooms have the rod full to the brim, and there's at least 25 additional rolls in the upstairs hall closet.

Again, Target has been a success here, but do be sure to be in the line before 8am.

My store just got in a few pallets of Clorox wipes last night. The good news is that toilet paper is almost back to normal. People aren't panic buying anymore so our supply is slowly getting back to normal. Thanks to vendors like distilleries we are also getting in a lot of hand sanitizer. It will honestly probably take over a year to start getting in all the different varieties of things that ppl are used to buying simply because the manufacturers are focusing on producing more bulk of their popular flavors. It's no telling how long, if ever, they bring some varieties back.

Also, in case anyone is wondering, everyone inside the stores must wear a facemask. My store had a covid positive partner almost a month ago and the extreme precautions we take were very reassuring that heb is handling everything as well as could be. Also, in exciting news for us the yellow coupons made their debut again today!!!

Serious question, why couldn't they just code the coupons in the POS system or hand everyone a coupon barcode that works for everything as they walk in. There's a lot of things I'm okay with, but carrying around coupons that everyone has been pawing at is a head scratcher.

We have 2 freezers, and I'm considering making a run on meat given the recent news.

Do the stores anticipate disruptions to the supply claims, especially for pork?

Do you have any knowledge of how the online ordering system works? I'd love to pick up a few of the offerings from restaurants such as Underbelly that HEB is carrying at Houston stores, but I can't go into a store right now. I can't find them listed for online ordering. Is that just because the inventory can vary too much to be listed, or because it's from an outside source, or what? Just curious.

Atag, in my area in Kroger/Smith's stores we are seeing very peculiar shortages of British blend black tea (Kroger brand). Are you seeing anything bizarre like this in your area?

I used one yesterday to score a free avocado!

Wish my store could get some of that hand sanitizer. I haven't seen any in over a month.

No meat at our local HEB in McAllen. Costco seems to have plenty.

I get how they work, just don't quite understand after everything we've all gone through that static hanging coupons is the way to go. Especially when they are H-E-B coupons, not manufacturer. I feel like there could have been another option. I'll probably use the mobile coupons going forward myself, but not all store deals seem to show up there.

I sure would like to see HEB make the aisles one way (similar to what Walmart is doing). As I told my wife, this should be a permanent move on HEB's part. It would make traffic flow much better throughout the store.

What is everybody hearing about potential future shortages? I'm going to be out this weekend and am interested in stocking up, especially after we've cleaned out the garage.

If you do this, you are the one who creates the shortage. Like the toilet paper. Like the bottled water. Like gas during Hurricane Harvey.

Just... buy what will last you and your family for a week or two.

HEB is now limiting the quantity of meat purchased. Supply looked fine at my local store, but I suspect everybody is going to go out and make a meat run in the next few days.

In an economy with price gouging laws you have to take what you can when the getting is good. There would have been less shortages of all products if prices were allowed to go up with surging demand but basic economics is too difficult for the average American today.

I don't want to take from other people, but we also need to feel secure. We have a good amount of space, but also need to be strategic - still stuff we haven't come close to using that's taking up space.

Who goes to the grocery store every few days? Really. I have always done what my parents did. And I am seventy. I buy what I need for the month right after payday. I can't imagine wasting time shopping several times a month.

If I need to pick up bread and milk in between I so somewhere like Brahms. Those of us who grew up in Ranch country know you keep the freezer filled and a good supply of canned essentials.

We go through 4 gallons of milk in less than a week. I shop every week for groceries. Many people go more often than I do.

I've been going almost every day. After all the trouble with disinfectant wipes last month, I've got 9 larger containers in stock. The supply chain there seems to be back, at least for Target.

Am curious about other possible future shortages?

I grew up in a ranching county with NO grocery stores. The nearest one was a 65 mile round trip. Mom actually sometimes went a couple of months without shopping, but we had a huge deepfreeze. They would buy meat from kids show animals and get it butchered at the processing place in the next county. We always had a variety of pork, lamb, and beef. We had a garden most years and would freeze all the veggies your heart could desire.

I understand families need milk. I am a family of one now, but even when my kids were little we would pick up milk at the gas stations rather than waste time at the grocery.

Just different lifestyles.

Very different. I grew up in suburbia and we went 1x or more a week. In big cities - total urban - people go daily or nearly every day. And if I paid gas station prices for milk our grocery bill would go way up!

Pre-pandemic I used to go to the grocery store 5-6 times a week. I have hundreds of pounds of meat and can probably 'survive' 6 months on my non perishables, but I thoroughly enjoy cooking and shopping for fresh food. I wouldn't count this as 'wasted' time. If food is just a means of survival for you I can understand this logic but personally I wouldn't want to eat stuff that has a 1 month shelf life all the time.

And when you hand your phone to my daughter from 2 feet away, she would appreciate it if you would wear a mask and not breathe on her.

Purpose of a coupon is to get yo-yo buy something that you might not have intended to purchase. Or to get rid of items that aren't selling.

that is only at select stores unfortunately. Pretty much every store should have some meal simple though.
