They can't all be beautiful
If you're driving US 180 between Snyder and Lamesa and need a public restroom during business hours, it would look like an oasis.Quote:

When I get rich I'm going to buy land outside of Snyder and setup a wind farm!!
Zack and I find the building itself aesthetically pleasing. Pulchritudinous, even. But those staircases?trouble said:

That would make sense. They certainly don't comport with the style of the building. And they are oddly placed in front of the ground floor windows.trouble said:
I don't think I've ever noticed those before. Maybe they are/were temporary?
They are almost certainly fire escapes added fairly recently. That courthouse is probably old enough that it was built with only one open (no fire doors) staircase in the center of the building. Modern fire code would require additional egress paths.ObviousLazyRiverIsObvious said:That would make sense. They certainly don't comport with the style of the building. It was built in 1885 so yeah that's a definite maybe. But the main point is that's not actually the building in Johnson City everyone is thinking about that get's lit up by Pedernales every Christmas.zpj0001 said:They are almost certainly fire escapes added fairly recently.
