Hill is too reliant on his change today. Started almost every hitter with it and Baylor is not swinging. When Hill commands his fastball, he's really good. When he can't, he struggles.

Hard to tell with his movement, but doesn't look like he is getting anything unless it is over the middle of the plate

brig is all over

He just doesn't have an above average fastball that he can spot on the corners and/or blow by batters, so if he gets in trouble it gets shelled. IMO, of course

Heavy thunderstorm and power goes out. One runner on with two outs when it happens. Everything gets restored right as he hits the grand slam. It was like, "what the f happened"?

Houston fan here. I don't like turf fields in general but it does have two big advantages. First, as stated earlier, is maintenance. It's cheaper and it holds up better, especially in tournament play. Grass fields can be a real mess on Sundays. The other one is drainage. The only thing that is causing delays at our park is lightning. Tarps and squeegees aren't necessary and playing on the field while it's wet doesn't damage it.

For the mound, I think it's an experiment. We had a dirt mound last year, which was either the first or second year of this turf. I can't tell if your pitcher is wearing turf shoes or not, but I also don't think many pitchers have them or have them broken in enough to want to wear them in a game. Like the commentators said, you trade off some slipping when it's wet in exchange for a consistent landing surface that doesn't get rutted by different pitchers over the course of a game.

Last thought is that I love how much y'all hate the red. Good luck and I hope our teams meet tomorrow in the winners bracket.
