new here...I know there are jokes about the mound but is there honestly a reason they have a turf mound? Is it just easier to maintain? I struggle to imagine it has any similarities to a dirt mound. Never heard of such a thing and seems almost like it should not be allowed...but maybe it does have a similar feel to dirt....

Question regarding turf. Take UH and the Disch. Is that purely an aesthetical thing to make the entire infield green? I can deal with turf as long as the colors actually make it look like a ball field, but Cougar High and tu's fields just look sacrilegious. Maybe the green turf isn't as hot when you stand on it?
I kept thinking that Cole was trying to get a time-out for the grounds' crew to come and work on it. Just really relieved that Brigham didn't pull something. I absolutely cannot believe that there is any field that has a turf mound. Even tt and texas have dirt mounds. Good grief.

Even outside of that honestly curious if anyone knows how it "plays" in "normal weather?"
To relate this to another sport....seems almost like our regional is being played on a clay court while all other regionals are on hardcourt. Pitching and the surface the stand on seems like it would a big deal. I will hang up now and listen.
