Big time player, but with one year to play, needs in a lot of other areas, and 0 spots as of today, I'm not sure we have room to take him. I think we have to get height on the perimeter and inside help. 12 days past NIT and nobody from the current squad has entered the portal. I would love to add 3-4 guys via the portal and love for Davis to be one, but that means 3-4 guys leaving and unsure if that is going to happen.

The lack of movement on our roster so far is interesting. I'm curious if they've taken a little more time off than expected and just haven't had those conversations yet, or if it is a sign we aren't going to send anyone packing without our coaches knowing for sure who the replacement will be.

With Nolley already visiting, you have to think the coaches know who they are or aren't expecting back.

We need to be fair to the players our coaches are looking to upgrade from and let them know so that they can pursue all their opportunities while the musical chairs transfer game is in full swing.

I might be in the minority, but I'm taking Davis 100/100 over Nolley. Kids as good as Davis are too good to pass up, even if you are only getting them for one year.

No doubt Davis is better. He's one year max, he's not the biggest position of need, and most importantly you probably can't tell Nolley to wait until Davis decides. In an ideal world you have 3+ portal spots and you aren't having to choose between them.

If we return every player that can return and cut recruits to take transfers, I'm going to be a little disappointed. Maybe there is a recruit or two the staff has reevaluated and decided maybe isn't the best fit after all, which is perfectly fine. However, we have an opportunity and a need to upgrade the roster. Rolling into next year with essentially the exact same roster, but without the leading scorer, would leave me with some questions as to what we're doing.

Spring signing period starts tomorrow. We have one recruit that hasn't signed in Williams. So we will see if he is announced as a signee here in the next week.

I have looked high and low for video or anything on Jordan Williams, but to no avail. Everything is a year old and everything you read is about him being a bulldog on defense. A strong 6'3, 205 defender sounds good to me.

I think he has been hurt. He is THICK. He is a workout warrior and if he signs he won't have any trouble with Buzz workouts. I don't know how great of a basketball player he is though (not doubting him, I just don't know).

I never said I thought he wasn't going to sign. I just know nothing is official until a kid signs. We see kids committed and end up elsewhere all the time.

Yeah, sounds like a "dog ate my paper" excuse. So what do you think of this guy? Definitely fits the size/athleticism quotient I envisioned for that new big. He plays a lot with his back to the basket although I'm not sure how good he is at it. But definitely athletic enough to guard on the perimeter with all of the switching Buzz implements.
