Visited Pustka Family Barbecue in Hutto earlier today. Some damn good stuff! No qualifications needed about it only being one guy in a little trailer. Legit super high quality barbecue here.
Brisket was really good and the bark was black peppery and seasoned well, too.
He also included some burnt ends which were little gems of happiness.
The sausage is excellent. While the brisket is top tier, the sausage is top of top tier, imo. I really appreciate the extra effort found in sausage made in-house.
Ribs were very well done, and in line, seasoning-wise with your standard pork rib.
After telling us he had been getting some positive buzz on his chicken, he surprised us by throwing a half on the tray. Chicken isn't usually a meat I order when getting barbecue, but this was excellent. Good smoke flavor, but it didn't overpower the chicken itself, and the skin remained tender.
All the sides were good as well.
Brisket beans, elote style corn, and apple jalapeno slaw.
But the meat was the star for me!
For sure worth a trip out to the north side of the Austin area. You won't regret it!
