We're meeting for breakfast tomorrow morning, 17th, at Taqueria Jalisco at 730am. Hope y'all can join in as we criticize tacos.

I referred to the next Tuesday as the 17th on the previous page. Quit making plans in the middle of our taco meetings and you wouldn't have to worry about it!

I'm giving Google an F-minus for ability to describe where this place is. About a quarter mile off.

Potato and egg - pretty standard.
Bean and cheese - very good.
Carne guisada - very good. Small chunks of nonfatty meat and cooked down onion. Light on the chili so not among my favorite, but still really good.
Red salsa - this is where the chili went. Great flavor.
Green salsa - good flavor but overshadowed by red.
Tortillas - homemade. Very pliable. No tears. Good flavor.
Overall - very good and very affordable.
Bean and cheese - very good.

The menu is very festive, and the numerous spelling errors makes for a sort of Where's Waldo game to keep you entertained. Very true to its roots of being a hole in the wall taco spot by service Big Red via a can, not the fountain.

Tacos n salsa on the access road of 1604 near Vance Jackson is fantastic. It's in a little strip center with a paint store, pet shop of some kind and other various smattering of little stores. They make a trash can taco with some of everything that is supposed to be awesome (I've not had this). I always get the machacado with huevos ala Mexicana that is great.
Super nice owners and very authentic tex mex with freshly made salsas every day. Only open for breakfast and lunch.
Highly recommended. Especially for that side of town.

I tried out Tacos n Salsa a couple months ago and I thought it was good.
It was obvious the ingredients were fresh, but nothing I had really stood out except for the pricing - which was a bit high.
And I agree the owners were very nice, the place was really clean, and they have great reviews so I know they have a good thing going. But a couple exits up is Aguascalientes which kicks that place in the taco teeth.

Ate at Aquacalientes this morning after reading the positive posts.....
No offense to people who like that place but their food is borderline at best.
Had the machacado plate with corn tortillas. Machacado was not bad though Taco N Salsas is made with a more huevos mexicana style so it has more tomato, etc. The problem which I could not overlook was the greasy potatoes/onions and terribly greasy corn tortillas.
Just no excuse for that.
Paid $10 including tip.
Would not return.

I'm in San Antonio now with my wife looking for a breakfast taco. We're near the river walk, and would rather not have to drive too far to get a breakfast taco. What's a good place relatively near us?

I haven't had anything bad here yet, but my favorite is the beef fajita costra and their salsa bar is legit too. Dine in, and if you dine in late enough you'll feel like you've been deported.
