Alright San Antonio folks, what is your go-to taco and what hole-in-the wall place do you frequent?

My go to is a chilaquiles taco (or I getthe plate to make a couple of 'em). I usually go to taqueria aguascalientes in timberwood park on weekends or El Mariachi Loco on Isom rd by the office.

I've got too many, but I have rules...

1. Must NOT be pre-made, already wrapped in foil.
2. Tortillas must be browned.
3. Don't scrimp on the bacon.

Taqueria Rodeo de Jalisco on Potranco is my "go to" because of location. It is fast, hot, cheap, fresh, and meets above requirements.

Comal Taco. HWY 46 about 4-5 miles East of the 281/46 intersection. Hands down the best I've ever eaten!

El Milagrito Cafe - Woodlawn & St. Mary's

Excellent tacos and breakfast, I generally stop in every sunday for tacos.

Rolando's Super Taco - Hildebrand

Huge Tacos - pretty good to.

Los Robertos - Bitters Rd.

breakfast burrito's another good place.

Old Donut Shop - Fredicksburg Rd.

great taco's and donuts but get there early or be prepared to wait.

I highly recommend Fajita Taco Place on De Zavala between Vance Jackson and Lockhill Selma. After a couple of recent trips to Monterrey it is the closest thing I can find. Great carne guisada and chilaquiles. Lunch/ dinner is great, too.

Taqueria Aguascalientes next to Hills & Dales. Best carne guisada I've ever had.

For non-Mexican fast food breakfast tacos try Bill Miller's lean brisket, egg & cheese, and any potato-combination taco from them is good too.

My go to taco has to be the Chorrizo & Potato; eggs are overrated.

My favorite taco place is probably El Nogal on N. St. Mary's and Camden (about a block south of where it passes under I-35). I used to love getting tacos there before class when I was in HS.
A close second is Pete's Tako House on N. Main and maple, about three blocks south of SAC. Same deal, tacos before summer classes at SAC were about the only thing that got me through the boredom of taking classes there.

Sorry, sir, but I think you're talking about burritos. Taco =/= Burrito. Wish SA would figger that out.

Anyhow. Bill Miller BBQ has solid breakfast burritos.

I had oilfield friends from Odessa who also called them burritos. I guess we should inform the hundreds of taco houses in SA that they must now change their signs.

I lived in Laredo for a year, and I kid you not....they call them mariachis. Mariachis like the band. I still remember ordering in Spanish ..... "quiero dos mariachis papas con juevo".

Burritos are closed at both ends, like what you get at freebirds.

Just had the usual breakfast plate. Made tacos with the chilaquiles, beans and bacon. Won't eat again til dinner.

Anyone remember caseys bbq and their breakfast tacos? They had a red guisada and another one that was pretty much scraps scrambled with eggs, now those were money. And their salsa was good too

Margies in Castroville has tacos named after some different local folks.

the "Bruce" has a little of everything in it.... egg,bacon,sausage,pepper,onion,cheese,beans and the kitchen sink...

Most people love it or hate it. It is instant heartburn.

I think they also have a "Sam".

Not sure why i typed old donut shop instead of original but that is the place i was referring to.

As for those of you from midland who do not know the difference between a Taco and Burrito, well you are about as bright as the staff at the NY TImes
