There are hundreds of good breakfast taco places in san antonio. Some are better than others, but you don't have to look to hard to find one here.

The tortilla is the most important thing to me. Also a good green sauce.

I think Aguascalientes beats out Chachos for breakfast tacos, but Chachos wins for the following:

1) Their salsas
2) Their piled high nachos
3) Their frozen jack & cokes
4) Their hours of operation

I miss San Antonio.

I've been in Dallas 5 years now and still haven't found a decent breakfast taco.

FCAg06 - Sorry sir. I had to do it.

The only mexican food I've tried in the Stone Oak area and enjoyed was that "Heavenly Mexican" place, or "Cielito Lindo". I went there for dinner once and had the fajitas for two. It ended up being very reasonable, and the meat was very tasty and tender. However, this is a breakfast taco thread and I've never had breakfast tacos there or any other place in Stone Oak. I stand by my suggestion that you should drive 10 minutes to have the best in SA.

Also - I went to Taco Taco at Hildebrand & McCullough today for lunch. This thread reminded me that they were awarded some kinda "Best Taco in America" deal by some TV show before.

I had the Norteno, and it was pretty darn good. The chips were light and crispy, and while I don't prefer the roasted salsa breed it was tasty too.

The Norteno is just under $5 and is enough for most people for lunch, but I usually judge places off their carne guisada since that's my favorite taco, so I ordered one of those as well.

Taqueria Aguascalientes still commands the most respect in San Antonio, IMO, because the Taco Taco guisada wasn't very fatty (a plus for me), had great flavor, and was good-sized for the price, HOWEVER the Aguascalientes guisada is a bit bolder/spicier on it's own than the Taco Taco guisada. Couple that with Aguascalientes' fresh salsa and they're still a clear leader in my book.

For Stone Oak it is pretty slim pickings.

Tink-A-Tako off of Blanco

Guero's Taco Diner off Heubner was decent at one point.

If you are going to be in that area try the place I listed earlier - El Milagrito Cafe. Much better than Taco Taco.
