2000-2200 was major support and now we have the largest liquidity pump and bailout by a central bank and central government in the history of money - something no other bear market or recession had this early. They have and will do everything they can to pump the market higher.
Those are the only 2 numbers for bull support right now, one of which is -unlimited- cash supporting liquidity. Unlimited is a pretty big number to have on your side.

Because they didn't shut their entire country down as much as everyone thought and said they did. The supply chain disruption was greatly exaggerated. Something I've harped on for over six weeks now. We won't rebound as quickly because we're a nation of consumers

I'm starting to wonder why elderly aren't shelter in place and the under 60 allowed out? This would benefit the elderly in the long run as many of us would get it, get over it, build up herd immunity.

Aren't most Apple stores and Starbucks stores open in China? This is just an example not a guiding metric for the entire country's manufacturing status. But I remember hearing that from Tim Cook and the SBUX CEO. So, I wouldn't totally dismiss it.

Has nothing to do with political correctness. Infinitely more informed task forces filled with doctors are passing the current guidelines.
A huge problem is people not giving an eff. The three golf courses around my house have never been more busy. Including beers and shenanigans in the club house after/pre-round.

Disney could have kept their parks open and kept filming movies and all they had to do was send home people over 60 and smokers?
Houston could have had the rodeo? SXSW shouldn't have been cancelled? NHL shouldn't have cancelled?
It's almost like the people downplaying this as "just the flu" have made this significantly worse. I'm sure all these companies gave up billions without consulting professionals.

This is what's going to happen
The right answer all along would've been to have a robust public health system capable of mass testing. Then you could do targeted quarantines and let everyone else continue to live their lives.
But of course that only works if people have a habit of wanting to go to hospitals for minor issues; when you've got no insurance and no sick leave, that's unlikely to happen. Hell even with insurance, I woke up with severe chest pain one morning and was like "dang, my deductible is $3k, do I really want to eat that up if this is nothing, which it likely is at my age?"
I'll hop off the soapbox because it doesn't belong here, but I really hope people rethink the importance of public health care after this. If the dude making your Torchy's tacos comes to work sick because he has no other viable choice, it just might affect you someday.
