CNBC said Tesla was up over 12,000% since 2018. That is where I got my numbers. They were not talking stock prices.

$2,036.76 invested in May of 2019 (low within the last five years) would have purchased you 11 shares. A 5:1 then a 3:1 would mean you have 165 shares today, valued at $45,549.90 assuming $276.06 a share I saw today. That's 2,136.39% total return.
That's an amazing return, but $2,000 into $2.5M (124,900%) should have thrown up huge warning flags for you.
Additionally, your common sense approach lends itself to fundamentals and identifying future growth, which is not what is driving Tesla's price. The retail explosion of Tesla stock when stimulus checks went out was insane... Don't beat yourself up too bad missing the Tesla boat.

It was a quick scalp. I have seen it enough and when you add commentary that there is typically a small pullback after those pops. had no intentions staying in it long!

Feels like a short attack (rinse and repeat) but it's definitely high volatility.
