USA is in SERIOUS danger of losing that tiebreaker and being eliminated from the World Baseball Classic in the Group Stage.

no way Italy beats Mexico tomorrow
Another option is to start plating some runs. We have given up 11 runs thus far against the two other teams. We need to hold Italy and score at least 7 runs to get some of that equation back in our favor.

I just can't see Italy beating Mexico. They will show up with passion and basically play in all the ways our guys can't. I'd love to be wrong, though I don't want to think what would happen to us in the next round.
Looks like our guys were just glad to get the Mexico monkey off our backs and didn't take Italy seriously. This could bite us in the ass.

Going to have to hope Mexico has zero pitching left. But their manger was smart and not restricted with how he uses his pitchers. They basically shut down the USA after the big inning using everyone in the pen

Embarrassment is an understatement. An unbelievable choke job. DeRosa should be no where near this team going forward.

More importantly, they need to hold Italy to 5-6 runs max, and score some runs of their own, to create more scenarios where they get through on a tiebreaker.
They need Italy to score some runs tomorrow vs MEX.

If they can score a few runs, they have a third way in: Mexico scoring a ton vs Italy and getting Italy to 11+ runs allowed (assuming we don't give up more runs here).
But will Mexico keep trying to score with a big lead if it helps USA?
They keep saying on the broadcast that this is shocking. Team USA threw a rookie pitcher and Ryan Yarborough who throws 88 mph.
