I thought it was 5....

A 5-4 loss in 8.5 innings would mean Italy and USA advance. Italy giving up 6 runs in a loss (8.5 innings) guarantees USA advances. At least by the math I have. Going extra innings changes things.

US runs allowed/defensive out is .203704.

Am I the only one who thinks this whole thing is dumb?

Italy - whole team is Americans

Great Britain - whole team is Americans

Israel - you guessed it. Americans

Mexico - about half

The players aren't even from the country on the front of the Jersey

It all seems stupid to me

Because we got drunk the night before and completely misunderstood the rules. If that isn't the most on brand American arrogance move then I don't know what to tell ya.

4 runs mostly seals it but there are still some edge scenarios US doesn't get in if it goes to extra innings
