Would be nice to have Tarik Skubal on the mound, right?

But he got his own training regimen to keep. Thanks for the three innings he pitched against Great Britain, though. Not sure we would've won if we had someone else on the mound against that juggernaut.

So yeah it was out of the zone but the ump has to adjust to seeing 102 gas then seeing that nasty pitch. And he's also got to make the call with conviction. With the game on the line he can't sit on it and make a late call either way.

He saw what he saw and made his call.

Kinda sucks but that's baseball.

It was a great pitch. I also think it was in the zone when it crossed the plate. I don't care where the catcher gloved it.

It certainly didn't miss by a mile like some people are saying.

He made it to the big leagues in less than half a season. He wasn't great when he got up there but that's a very impressive feat. He also has a 1.200 OPS in this tournament. I'd be surprised if he doesn't became a very good pro.

The last 10-15 years of the Venezuelan economic crisis has led to a massive immigration shift. Houston and Miami are by far the biggest hubs of VZ's in the USA. I'd bet Orlando is 3rd. I'm biased because I married one, but I have to say they're mostly all great people who work their ass off and love the opportunity the United States has offered them.

This is the 6th World Baseball Classic: 2006, 2009, 2013, 2017, 2023, and 2026. Hopefully, the US team wins it for the 2nd time and 1st time since 2017.

I am really enjoying it. Players seem to take great pride in representing their country. The Venezuelans don't hate their country even though they might not like the politics. Unlike the liberals and democrats in America.

All in the same draft class (1st round), all in the SEC, all haven't made it to AAA yet.
