Stars? They announced that back in August and are currently airing games.

I agree, that's not a bad price at all for roughly 150 games or so. I wonder what the number of subscribers they expect to get is. Between bars and households, is 25,000 out of the question? I really have no idea.

Victory+ has already been downloaded over 500,000 times and the only non-DFW sports team on it currently are the Anaheim Ducks which might account for 150,000.

But that is all free viewing, so who knows what their subscriber numbers will be.

Only ****ty part of victory I've found so far is that's it's not available in all app stores yet (LG smart TVs or my Microsoft pro tablet). Hopefully that's fixed by April.

Just read Evan Grant's article and he mentioned the blackout restrictions. There are none in Texas for the Rangers right? So I shouldn't have an issue streaming the games in the Houston area if no other cable option materializes?

Rangers announced they will be on the Stars platform essentially.

So the same app but you have to pay to watch the rangers while the stars are free? That seems… odd.

From what I know the streaming cost is an MLB requirement, not a Victory + requirement. The cost is in line with the streaming cost of other teams with a DTC streaming platform/partner.

So if you pay does that mean you can watch out of state or will there be an mlb.tv simulcast to watch with an mlb package?

I would think our announcers would travel like they have always done but they haven't formally announced that yet.

People who live out of state/out of market (like myself) will be able to continue with the MLBTV plan like always. I believe it's $99/season for just the Rangers games or $139(?) for all the MLB teams' games.

I'm pretty happy with this. Have been pretty happy with Victory+ for stars and 100 for the full season is not bad for the Rangers

That seems completely ok with me and I will gladly pay it. I also know if I'm paying for something I'm more likely to use it. I haven't watched much starts on victory plus even though I check in on them daily. If I'm paying for rangers I will feel obligated to watch. $100 for 150ish games also seems like a good deal.

For less than the cost of a cup of coffee per day.

Keep in mind they are reaching out to providers too. So it's possible that, for instance, if you have YTTV, you might only pay $60.

This is a step in the right direction.

I used to have Bally's and (paid for) got to see all the games. I live in Midland. The reason I was blacked out of MLB.tv for Rangers games was there was a cable option for the game in my area. So that placed me "in market."

With that changing now, am I still in market? May not make a difference but thought I would ask.

I have DirectTV Stream and have enjoyed having Ballys (understanding it was a terrible deal that would disappear soon).
Hoping there is a good deal put together for streaming providers.

Victory is just the first phase.

There will be other linear options that will be announced towards the end of the month.

Also, sorry YTTV peeps. Rangers will not be on there. You'll need to get the Victory+ app if you want to watch games.

Seems like the price is similar to what the price difference was between Fubo and YTTV over the course of one season in order to get Bally's. So that's disappointing.

Yeah, YTTV does not currently have any of the regional sports networks (that I am aware of anyway). So no surprise that Victory will not get packaged in. We'll have to watch via the app, like what we have to do to watch the Aggies when they are on SEC+ and you have to use the ESPN app.

I stuck with DTV for longer than I wanted to, mostly to be able to watch the Rangers. But since we knew the Ballys deal was done as of the end of last season, I switched over to YTTV. I am liking it so far. Plus I can set up sub-accounts for my kids to use, without paying extra. I have a couple away at college.

Wish there would be an option through the MLB app for live in market games. It's a great user experience.

Anyone see who will be signing Autos at Fan Fest, Saturday?!

Hoping Seager and Pederson. I have 4 2020 WS Baseballs I'd like them to Auto.

I have 10 2023 WS Baseballs.

Looking at (in order): Seager, Semien, Eovaldi, Adolis, and Garcia. Jung and Sborz (Final Out). Not sure if Bochy signs.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Have you been before? Do you have a fast pass? We went a few years ago, and without a fast pass and if they are doing it the same way, you're basically praying to get a ticket that will allow you to get one bigger name player. Mid to lower tier are easier.
DallasAg 94
How long do you want to ignore this user?
1st time.

Yes. Fast Pass. 2 of them.

Mrs DA 94 can't go, and nobody else I know IRL can go, so my pitch was "Free beer 9a-4p, just gotta get these guys to sign some stuff" to a guy that couldn't name a single Ranger. LoL.
Trucker 96

Ah, you will be in good shape with that fast pass. When I took my younger daughter during her autograph phase (she was about 10, a mean little fastpitch softball player, and a huge fan), the fast passes had already sold out before we decided to go. We were really fortunate that some really nice teenage girl was standing next to us when we got our program upon entry which contains - or more likely does not contain - the "magic" ticket to get one of the premium players to sign. But this girl and her dad both got a Beltre ticket in their programs, she noticed us realizing our programs had none at all, and she gave one of their Beltre tickets to my kid. We both will never forget it.

That's when memories are made. More than just just the Beltre Auto... an act of kindness goes a long way.

Absolutely. Literally makes a memory that lasts for life.

A quick Beltre head rub while she waited to get his autograph

Some Int'l info FWIW...

Interesting we went heavy into Venezuela:

Hansel Ramirez is Hanley Ramirez' son.

Only 1 Top50 ranked player. Looks like quantity over high-end, although who really knows. I haven't seen the total cost to Int'l Pool money so far, so, we may have some left over. Could be the Rangers set aside some money for Sasaki.

Not sure who is still available, but either the Padres or Dodgers likely have some discussions with prospects.

Hanley Ramirez lost the first baseman position in Boston in 2017 to former Ranger Mitch Moreland. He was out of baseball shortly thereafter.

As a big portion of MLB free agency begins to wind-down with Sasaki on the doorstep of picking his team, I like what the Rangers have done for the most part. I still think they need a significant piece in the BP, but as has been discussed here many times, BPs are year to year and I think it's okay to see where they are at in spring training rather than giving someone 15 million per to be in the BP.

My overall outlook for the Rangers this season is that we are a good, but not great team. I think our front of the line stars are as good as anyone in the league not named the Dodgers, but we lack a few bona fide, skins on the wall type of MLB guys. Now, I don't think this is a bad thing necessarily, as we have quite the crop of young guys that we think highly of that are going to be significant contributors this season (Langford, Rocker, Evans, etc.), however, and I truly believe, this season is going to be about staying healthy. We have quite a few guys with major injury histories, and for us to be a successful team this year it's going to be all about getting 3/4s of a season from all of those dudes.

Agree 100%. If the everyday lineup misses as much time as they did last year, it doesn't matter who our Closer is.
