Rocker with another rough outing. Not really much hard contact but he hit a batter and walked another. Seems to be struggling with command right now.
that sucks. Was it his throwing hand or his glove hand? If it's the glove hand, he could at least keep on a throwing schedule.Dwb22 said:
Jon Gray fractured wrist from the line drive tonight. Hope Rocker can get it together - think we're gonna need him to start the year unless Mahle is somehow ok in time
scrolling through twitter yesterday I saw someone mention it (probably a retweet). Not the smartest thing to say, but anybody can have a phantom hamstring tweak and need a week or so to work through itWater Boy said:
Did you guys hear the comments Bochy made regarding deGrom and possibly using the IL to keep him healthy? Didn't the Mets get in trouble for using the IL for roster manipulation? Listening to a David Samson podcast and he brought this up.

Broken bone has had a general rule of 4-6 weeks. And that has historically been time in a cast to limit mobility. More modern approach has leaned away from casting and preventing mobility in favor of keeping the soft tissue more stretched out.Quote:
TODAY: A clear recovery timetable hasn't yet been determined for Gray, but president of baseball operations Chris Young told Kennedi Landry and other media that Gray will indeed be out for an "extended time." It will be at least six weeks before Gray is even cleared to start throwing, so it seems like Texas will be placing him on the 60-day IL at some point before Opening Day.
