Have they announced what Lucroys suspension is since he was blocking the plate?

This, appeal it to one or something and move on. At least it wasn't an absurd 5-10+ like some on twitter were calling for (which was insane).Marvin said:
I think it was just too violent of a collision for baseball not to take action- to discourage similar contact in the future if nothing else.

Good thing is if he tried he would only succeed about 25% of the time.
Absolutely agree with you.mazag08 said:

THIS! It's no different that a runner and a SS colliding while the SS is trying to field a grounder and the runner is trying to get to 3rd. It's a collision. It happens.12law said:
Torre said Jake didn't have the intent...but suspended him anyways? MLB should only suspend players when it's intentional.

It sounded to me like "we know he didn't mean to do it, but we have to set a precedent and send a message, so take a few games off".
Interesting logic. If Jake had suffered a broken nose as well, would you have suspended him?EastCoastAgNc said:astros4545 said:

Was the concussion and broken nose not enough for you?
I'm not responsible for suspensions. Just seems silly to discuss a suspension for a guy who took the brunt of the pain and is already gonna be out for a while. Seems like a de-facto suspension.Gramercy Riffs said:Interesting logic. If Jake had suffered a broken nose as well, would you have suspended him?EastCoastAgNc said:astros4545 said:

Jake was drunk when he ran over Lucroy??? That changes everything in his situationn_touch said:
So if the drunk driver is injured then he gets off with no punishment?
Just because he took the blunt of the hit does not mean he did everything within the rules. If you are going to punish one person for breaking the rules then follow it for both parties.Quote:
