They've got to can Mills sometime soon right? This is beyond embarassing.
I understand they want to see what these young players can do put I really think his flip flopping of the lineup everyday is hurting the players. I can't imagine coming to the ballpark and not knowing where/if you'll be batting or playing. They need defined roles and clear and consice expectations.

I wish they'd fire Mills yesterday. Talent or no talent, he's not a good game manager, and it's going to be a while before we have elite talent to overcome bad coaching.

I think letting one of the other coaches finish the year as manager would be a good idea. (Except Dave Clark, that dude is terrible.)

Let's focus on the positives: our minor league is getting stronger. Asher Wojiechoski (or however you spell it) went 7 innings the other night without allowing a run and tonight another pitcher we just recently acquired went 8 innings with one earned run allowed for AA Corpus. Lets hope that some of these guys are able to make it to Houston and continue their success. It's not like they can do much worse than what we have right now
This team is a dumpster fire. The only bright spot in the last 7 years has been Lance winning a ring... with the Cardinals! Looks like that will have to carry us for another 7 years at this rate.
And where's Crane in all this? I haven't heard from him in a while. At least Drayton was visible when he was f-ing up the team. Crane saved his tens of millions with the team's move to the AL, let's see some early investments on his part.
Crane should be making a killing. The astros payroll next year will just about 25 guys x the MLB minimum ($415k) = about $11 million

Yeah, Drayton was visible by signing bull**** players to bull**** contracts. Crane is doing what Drayton should have done 5 years ago - invest in your draft players and develop them in the minors. It sucks right now, but the goal is that we will bring in a wave of talented young players who can be the foundation of the team for many years
It also seems Crane sits back and lets Lunhow go to work. Drayton liked to be the one calling shots, making statements, and taking credit. Lunhow is out there way more than any GM of the Astros in recent time rather it be tv, radio, interviews, twitter. etc.

Crane just ponied up in the draft and signed several first round talents who were risks to go to college. He is letting his GM acquire assets and investing in scouting/draft. I dont know what else we should expect of him right now.

Also, I cant fathom how some of you are at all invested in the big league club. This was a lost season from day 1 whether you wanted to believe it or not. There are maybe 3 or 4 guys with the club right now that have any shot at staying with the team until they are finally good again in several years.
The long term success of this ball club lies in the lower levels of the farm system right now. If you want to follow something, follow that. Its actually pretty exciting. The talent level of our farm system has more than doubled in the past year.
I could give a crap that washed up Coco Cordero blew a save in a game that ultimately means nothing, but when I see that George Springer is well on his way to a 30/30 season in his first year with the organization I get excited.
Things will likely get worse for the big league club before they get better, but I am encouraged by the new front office and the direction they have this thing going.

It's the same investment any Aggie had during the Fran era. You know your team will lose more than it will win, but when you watch your team come back in the 8th to take a lead only to have it followed by Cordero blowing another lead in the 9th, it's heart wrenching.

I'm not INVESTED per say but it is the Astros and I am a fan of watching hometown baseball on TV. I ususally have the game on when I get home from work and am having a drink or making dinner. It usually goes off when he S.O. finds something better on.
Hard for me to turn off and cut myself completely off from the Astros. Guess at this point it can be called my guilty pleasure.
Maybe because george springer isn't on tv.. and because every time i turn the game on i am hoping there is a new young player who got called up to watch.

I disagree with that. Whereas downs and bixler are getting extensive playing time this year.. that will be singleton, springer, and villar in the next two years. If anything next year will be the same or worse.. then the pitching starts to develop.
