After watching the last two games I am actually of the opinion that KD sitting out, at least for the rest of the series, is a good thing. I wouldn't want to mess with the momentum and chemistry out on the court. Besides, even if they do the unthinkable and force a game 7 that they then go on to win I expect the run to end in the next round with or without KD.

Its funny the emotional swings we have as fans. After the first three games I was ready to blow it up and leave no man untradeable, fire Stone, and maybe even Ime. After listening to some talking heads I have cooled on that. Next season you would return Van Vleet, Adams, and Durant. Now, is that a championship contender? Maybe, maybe not, but the alternative of returning to NBA purgatory doesn't sound very appetizing to me.

At the very least - no more Durant. The team is better and more lively with him not playing.

This. This has been the difference maker. No more deferring to Durant on offense. All the Houston guys can score and defend and they are young while most of the key Lakers are old or injured. Lakers don't know what to stop now. Rockets are going to be the first team to come back from down 3-0.

I'm a certified platinum hater, but I think some of y'all have gone a bit too far with the KD hate.

The report is that he has a bone bruise, which is incredibly painful and not something you can play through. As someone who has gotten numerous lower body injuries, it's easy to see how playing on a bad knee led to a different and worse injury. I don't think he quit on our team, he is just old... especially given his height. He played entirely too many minutes for us this year and we were lucky to keep him healthy all season with that workload.

I do think we are playing better without him though. Ime is forced to actually run an offense instead of just funneling everything through KD. If KD was destroying our offensive flow, it's up to the coach to fix that. If Ime actually does his job properly, the team has an incredibly high ceiling with KD on the floor. That is actually what we saw at the very beginning of the season before complacency set in. I think if KD comes back, we might be able to get back to that early season flow where we had a good team mixed with KD instead of a team consisting of only KD.
