Maybe washed was too harsh, but he's just a slow jump shooter now. He can't even bend over to pick up a ball at his feet. He's a shell of his old self athletic wise now.

He's still top tier of BBIQ, but he can't move defensively like he used to and teams are starting to exploit that. With only Sengun as a rim protector, that is going to get worse for Houston. Defense is about 5.2 points better with both Reed/Durant off the court than both on.

With KD on the court everyone else is just deferring to KD. It's Alpy or KD and ocassionally lets run Reed off of a couple screens see if he can make a 3.
Ime can be as great as anyone at instilling toughness, etc, but if he can't put some semblance of an offensive system together, we need to move on. He may be a younger Thibs.
We need a point guard, but we also need some sort of offensive gameplan and we have none. It's KD and Alpy solo ball.

Yeah, it's not that fun to watch when the shots aren't falling.
However teams aren't switching off KD when Alpy has the ball, and getting an open look to Jabari more often than not is blowing up in our face.

Why would you. All the young rockets just toss KD the ball and wait for him to do something. He has to pass it back to them if he wants them to participate.

The FVV injury rears its ugly head time and time again. They better pray something falls in our lap on the buyout market or this is starting to smell like a first round exit. Still need some help at center too.
I saw DLo and Boucher are potential buyouts. Those are probably the best options available.

I don't know. I watched him in two cavs games this year and he's not the player he was but he was still an awesome passer and creator.

So many possession where Reed, Sengun or KD just dribble the ball one-on-one just inside midcourt. We don't get into any real action until there is around 12 seconds left on the shot clock. Very little dribble penetration, very little movement....just 1 guy dribbling far away from the basket, 1 guy fighting for position in the high post and 3 guys watching.
I definitely think defense and toughness wins championships...but sometimes I miss Coach Pringles.

And this isn't bc lack of a point guard. We have no off ball movement. No gameplan. There's no real system in place. Jack up shots and win the boards and get second chance points is the gameplan.
