Davis Bertans on the trade block after a great first half. 45/43/90 for 15/5 in 30mpg. Sure am glad we let him walk so we could sign DeMarrree Carroll.

Pistons trying to move Andre Drummond for cap space. DeRozan straight up works. They have almost the same salary.

Those are the same numbers he shot for us last season (although he's playing a lot more minutes this season). His offense was never his problem, it was his defense and rebounding. And as already pointed out, he was traded to sign Marcus Morris, who is wasting away in New York on the terrible Knicks.

Since the pistons have been pretty irrelevant since the mid 00s, I haven't watched a ton of Andre Drummond. All I know is he's a rebounding machine and a terrible free throw shooter. He's still only 26, but I would think if the spurs made that trade they'd also move LA since those two and Poeltl would be redundant.

Heck of a win at home against the bucks tonight. I didn't get to watch the previous game Saturday, but the effort level tonight was something else. Frustrating to watch them play at this high level then do things like blow big leads and lose to inferior teams.

One bright spot the last several games is our 3 point shooting has gone way up as a team, and I think a lot of it has come from LA just taking threes when they're there. LA has been on a tear and is shooting 45% on over 2 attempts per game, and it's really opened up the floor with Demar out there.

Just heard that the spurs have taken 30+ 3 point attempts in 5 straight games. We don't have to be the rockets, but this is certainly a trend that I hope continues.

LA as a stretch 5 is really opening things up. And for much crap as I give DeMar dude has been shooting lights out lately.

Drummond is up to 63% FT shooting. He was a 38% FT shooter for his first 5 seasons.

Drummond is putting up 17.4p/15.9r/1.9b/2.0s/2.6a in 33.6mpg. I'm sure they would take Poetl from us. I think LMA would then get to play more high post, which he prefers. Drummond/LMA would work fine.

Bertans is getting more shots now, too. You are right, his per-36 numbers are essentially identical except number of shots attempted.

Drummond is great on my fantasy team but much like Westbrook, I think his stats are pretty empty. The pistons are 25th in opponents points in the paint. And if he exercises his $28MM option...yikes.

Dejounte was also 3-4 from deep, and seems to be shooting with much more confidence lately. I think they said on the broadcast that roughly 9 of his 15 made 3s on the season have come in the last several games.

Lonnie Walker, 19 points off the bench tonight. It's a real feast or famine thing with him.

I wouldn't say it's feast or famine with Walker. Lately I'd say that when he's given the minutes, it's been a lot more good than bad. He's going to be important for us if we want to make the playoffs.

Man I totally forgot the game was on tonight. We handled Boston without going nuts from 3 like we did the previous game against the bucks.

We've proven that we can bring the energy and play with (and even beat) top teams in the league. Next up we have Memphis and need to have this same kind of consistency against the lesser teams as well.

Fan was arrested and banned for life from future home games. Also, faces 1 year in jail. At least Boston handled quickly.

So the 22 years old threw a 20oz Truly hard seltzer can. The judge was going to let him go but noticed the 22 years old was on probation for an prior incident which included assault and battery towards an officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct outside an bar.

The judge ordered him to be taken into custody. A real winner this guy.

The Spurs (16-20; eighth in the West) have been exploring the market for DeRozan, but a source with knowledge of his situation is quick to point out that the free-agent-to-be has a significant influence on the situation here too. DeRozan, who has a $27.7 million player option for next season, will have the freedom to walk this summer if he doesn't like his next landing spot. It's tough to find serious takers when you know the guy might skip town in just a few months. Meanwhile, there remains the possibility that he could sign an extension to remain in San Antonio (I reported in October that the sides were far apart, but those talks aren't dead). With the Spurs somehow still in position to set a new NBA record by securing their 23rd consecutive playoff berth, DeRozan is leading the team in scoring (21.7 points per game) and assists (4.9 per).

The Spurs bipolar disorder is still in full effect. I didn't get to watch the Memphis game, but I was hoping we had turned a corner and would play at a constant level each game, rather than playing to our opponents. We've now beaten Milwaukee, Boston, and Toronto with a loss to Memphis sandwiched in between. Frustrating to watch this team play really well then really poorly.

Solid come back in Toronto tonight.

I agree but to be fair, they did catch Memphis on a hot streak. Memphis has won 5 in a row including blowing out the Clipper in LA.

Per the Miami Herald:
Quote:

A source in contact with the Spurs said San Antonio hasn't decided what to do regarding LaMarcus Aldridge and Demar DeRozan but that it views the Heat as a potential trade partner if it decides to make a move with either one.

Though there's no indication of any aggressive Heat pursuit of either at this time, one source said Heat/Spurs contact was expected, if it hasn't happened already. Pat Riley previously pursued both players when they were free agents and both have deals with only one more full season.

Aldridge, who has been on a recent roll from three-point range (20 for his last 40), would appear to be the far more logical target because the Heat could use another skilled, accomplished power rotation player. An informed source said the Spurs would want more than simply an injured Winslow and Derrick Jones Jr. and expiring contracts. Kendrick Nunn could entice the Spurs, but whether Miami would be willing is another story.

Aldridge is due $24 million next season, DeRozan $27.7 million if he exercises his player option for 2020-21.
If we could get something for DeRozan, now would be the time due to his play as of late. But really, I think the Spurs woes are due to every one of our young guys extremely underperforming, on top of Pop's terrible rotations.
