Good deal for 2.4. Hopefully he knows his role.
If everything works out great and Melo fits in perfectly, what can we offer him next year? (Asking the board, not you specifically)CFTXAG10 said:
Reports out there that he will sign for the vet minimum 2.4 million
A 2-way would make more sense I thinkHickory High said:
Don't think we use a roster spot on House. But for the most part, I agree.
The "Warrior Beater" lineup probably looks like this :Farmer1906 said:
We have a lot of options on what line up we run out.

The more I think about it the more I think Melo can work out here. Hopefully he is in the gym right now working on his 3 pointer and trying to figure out how to not be selfish for the first time in his career.

Thats laughably low considering there's only 3 teams imo that have a realistic shot at the title next year. The media is way overplaying the loss of Ariza and Luc (who didn't even play in the playoffs).PhatMack19 said:
It's nuts to think replacing Ariza/Luc with Melo/Ennis will cost the Rockets 12 games.Forum Troll said:Thats laughably low considering there's only 3 teams imo that have a realistic shot at the title next year. Oh and the same folks think the Rockets have a 53 win total and 65% chance at division title. Give me that win total as a betting line and I'll easily take the over.
Can't agree with this.k20dub said:
I don't think it's as simple as that. You have Harden coming off an MVP season, CP another year older, a potentially unhappy Capela, the defense will surely take a step back and the West as a whole is stronger. San Antonio is better, Lakers are better. I see us winning closer to 55. Which is still above the 53 win mark someone mentioned above.
San Antonio is definitely better than last year. Not as good as two years ago. From last year they basically replaced Tony Parker, Kyle Anderson, and Joffery Lasomething with DeMar DeRozan, Marco Belinelli, and Jakob Poeltl.Texan_Aggie said:Can't agree with this.k20dub said:

To be fair, you're also a Spurs fan...Guitarsoup said:San Antonio is definitely better than last year. Not as good as two years ago. That's true, so which would you rather have? (Sorry, forgot about Green)Texan_Aggie said:To be fair, you're also a Spurs fan...Guitarsoup said:San Antonio is definitely better than last year. 2017 Kawhi or 2018 Kawhi.Hickory High said:
uhmmmm I'd rather have Kawhi Leonard.
Not sure there were a lot of prospects on the table. The Lakers wouldn't include Ingram, so it was basically Kuzma+Deng's horrible contract+bad picks for Kawhi. Philly wouldn't include anything over than Covington+Saric+picks.rvk246 said:
I think they're likely anywhere from 3-6 in the west. Problem is that there's really not much floor spacing or perimeter defense in their starting lineup. I also feel like they needed a rebuild rather than adding Derozan. If were them I would've gotten prospects/picks in a Leonard trade instead.
Is the west stronger? Probably, but only the Lakers (I doubt it) have a shot of catching Houston. Maybe we win fewer games, but ultimately it is about having a high-level product to coast through rounds 1 and 2 and challenging GSW.Texan_Aggie said:Can't agree with this.k20dub said:

Nope. Ingram was never offered. He was always off limits. I would have taken that deal, too.rvk246 said:
I read that the Lakers had a 'Godfather' offer on the table before LeBron opted out. Apparently the offer was Kuzma, Ingram, Hart, Suns 2019 1st round pick (Lonzo going to PHX). They took it off the table after he opted out but this deal is much better than the Raptors one IMO. Popovich apparently also had no intention of trading with LAL for whatever reason.
Fair, but making the playoffs as a 6th seed is "better" than last year.Guitarsoup said:2017 Kawhi or 2018 Kawhi.Hickory High said:

Because one of those was great and one decided not to show up.
So like I said, Spurs will be better than last year, but not as good as two years ago. Pretty fair assessment?
The 3rd Seed was a 49 win team. The 8th seed was a 47 win team. After the top tier of teams (Warriors, Rockets), the middle class of teams were essentially the same.Texan_Aggie said:Fair, but making the playoffs as a 6th seed is "better" than last year.Guitarsoup said:2017 Kawhi or 2018 Kawhi.Hickory High said:
