Been watching some tape on Chriss this morning. Very athletic. Jumps out of the gym. Going to be a great lob option for Paul and Harden. For a 6'10" big man 31% from three isn't too shabby.

I don't pretend to know what Morey is thinking, but Anderson was deadweight at this point. Anybody paying attention knew his confidence was shot and he was no longer happy with his role on this team. Melton was a nice young prospect but an unknown. To flip Melton and Anderson for Knight and Chriss on its face is just hella-beautiful GM'ing by Morey.

If we kept Chriss I could easily see him being a backup to Capela. Let Dantoni work on him a bit.

The timing is odd. I don't think it is a case of not wanting another tour of duty with Carmelo.

He seemed to be the top of guy that would stick around until he was in his 70s (Vice Sports article on him).

Hope it isn't a health issue. After he was fired from coaching the Nuggets, he took the Air Force job to stay in Colorado because his daughter had a brain tumor. She had recovered, but hopefully there isn't something else.
