This is exactly what I did. But agree 100%, need to make shots, stay ahead or at least keep pace and have a chance at the end.
This same refrain seems to play out every year: lack of consistent outside shooting, lack of a guy that can on any night go for 25 to 30+ pts, Mike Conley beat the eff up every year in the playoffs, and long scoring droughts that directly correspond to big leads being stretched by the other team or the Grizz failing to extend a lead while the other team is in a drought themselves.
I also think for this team that the defensive intensity is keyed by the offensive success. If they see some of their shots go in, they seem to ratchet it up defensively (and it helps to set up the half court defense). When they miss shots or have turnovers, they get frustrated defensively and give up plays/points.
Pathetic that Z-bo had 9 points two minutes into the game and ended up with 13 on the night.
