Got the win tonight on the road over an Orlando team that had come off some big wins recently. Newly acquired Green with a big night, with 12 of his 21 in the 4th. Good win without Conley.

Lots of balance tonight from the team.
Jeff Green had 21 points, and he hasn't even been shooting that well.
Tony Allen was a force on defense. ZBo had a streak where the Magic couldn't stop him, and Gasol was steady throughout.
Courtney Lee needs to start with mid-range jumpers if he misses 3 pointers.

NBA.com has a very good piece on Mike Conley.
Iowa I thought in the past the Grizzlies were generally one of if not the only game on MLK day. Also ESPN generally broadcasted it in recent years as well.
It's been discussed here a little bit how Michael Heisley got the nba to have a MLK game, especially involving Memphis and Atlanta. I think he pictured being like the Detroit Lions of Thanksgiving.
Memphis has gone from being an espn game to an NBA tv game to probably a regional game in future.
If the nba is going to rotate between Atlanta and Memphis, i would prefer both, but that is fine. I' d rather not see the usual lineup of major markets, and top Nike shoe promoters teams.

I only caught the fourth quarter and only one break went the Grizzlies way from what I could tell. Parsons may have slightly kicked out on a 3 point attempt and it got called against him.

Grizz could not get anything going from behind the 3 point line (3/22), and had some rough calls go against them, but nothing that most teams don't have. The one area I feel like this team has gone down since Hollins left is the ability to get rattled by bad calls. I always felt Hollins was pretty much of "So you got fouled, tough-(feces), play through it" Whereas Joerger complains more, and now the players do as well.

From the game report. Apparently there was a fire alarm about 90 minutes before the game, and one of the stories is that Rick Carlisle spent the evacuation time before the game sitting on a bus "with Tony Allen in his bathrobe." Allen, the Grizzlies' guard-forward, has been wearing a blue bathrobe in the locker room lately. Asked if the visual of Allen would be memorable, Carlisle replied: "Hopefully not."

I think 2nd place would be a pretty good place to get to because the Spurs are sitting in the 7th seed right now, and I know that the Spurs won't stay in 7th.
With Aldridge out now for a while, it is a good time to get that 2nd seed spot.
