They have turned into an old team with probably the smallest number of young talent of any team in league.

I feel like 2-4 in southwest will be based on health of rockets, grizz, Mavs. Even pelicans will be quite dangerous with a year of health.

Zach, Vince Carter, Tony Allen, Tayshaun Prince, Beno = old.

Vince is a pretty underrated pick up. He will be solid. Other than that, they don't have much depth though, especially in the front court. Still a dangerous team if completely healthy though.

I think this is the year. . . to finally win a season opener.

The Grizzlies organization hasn't won a season opener since 01-02 when the Vancouver Grizzlies beat the Seattle SuperSonics.

While I expect and hope for a win, part of me doesn't want to see that streak broken.

That was one ugly game.
Both teams shot 36% from the field, and the refs basically did the standard, "Hey, were not going to call a foul if your within 12 feet of the basket."

I think Kemba and Conley started about 0 for 20 to start the game.

Bring 3 and 0 is nice, but some of that is a product of an easy schedule. They will need to play much better against New Orleans, and they have to do better, especially their bench.

Tayshaun is ok in spot minutes, but he can't do more than 15.
And Kosta is playing like he just regressed 4 years.

Zach and Gasol have played as well as they ever have, but Davis and Asik will be a real interesting match up.
