On the replay after the goal, you could read Walker's lips "oh my ****ing god".

The City reaction shots after Nunes gave up that penalty are absolutely priceless. Should be illegal to derive so much joy from something.

I'm not saying my words inspired us to win but I'm not saying they didn't.

Just watched Amorim's postgame interview and the only thing I can do is swoon.

Could sense a sort of relief in his face as he admitted it was a big 3 points. But it doesn't take him long to then say it's just 3 points. And that anytime he starts to get his feelings carried away in high moments like this, he thinks back to when they were losing 3-1 to Forest to keep him grounded.

When asked about Rashford and Garnacho, he effectively said tomorrow is a new day and a new week. The players that train and carry themselves well will play and those that don't won't. He said anyone can play in his system and that Rashford and Garnacho are needed if they want to succeed (whether that's true or not will 100% depend on how the two react to watching their team beat City w/o them).

I'm not active on Instagram, but I assume this is real (I don't follow this aggregator, it just bubbled up):

This is so well said. The manager has finally taken the power back from the players. I think EtH was doing that as well but his lack of charisma especially in front of the media did not paint the message quite as well.

Saw this on another site.

Quote:

115 seconds between Bruno equaliser and Amad winner.

87:12 and 89:07

One second for each Man City cheating charge.

Yeah I remember well in EtH's first season when he didn't start Rashford because he was late to training. It was in the middle of Rashford's stellar form and it raised eyebrows. He eventually came on in the second half and scored the winning goal. I think he was reasonably successful at changing that culture initially but I think results undermined him in the end. Same thing will happen to Amorim if he can't eventually point to positive results as the product of his methods.

I meant to post that Goldbridge said in his post match recap that he heard rumors that the January transfer window would be shocking. It seems that it is already coming out. Rashford is supposedly up for sale. This seems like a real sale not a "we are putting an 80 million pound tag on a player nowhere close" sell.

I read that. Super annoything that **** like this keeps coming out. Amorim's name was attached to it which is going to undermine his words last night at least a little (a lot if he's actually driving it). Would be extremely bizarre for him to say that there's a way back for Rashford while secretly plotting to sell him. This seems like a Ratcliffe project to me but who knows.

what I saw is this is Ratcliffe. But Goldbridge intimated that the lineup leaking very well could have come from a player (agent). I'm starting to think maybe they have figured out Rashford is one of the leaks.
Dre_00

The rumors I've heard are that the leaks are coming from Garnacho's camp...specifically his brother. But more than anything I ****ing hate that this is even a thing. It's like following a reality TV show or a soap opera and I don't want follow either of those things. Can I please have a football club where the majority of the conversation is about results, performances, tactics, and stuff actually related to football and not what some player's teenage brother may or may not be doing? Please?

I still love Rashford and will probably always love Rashford for the simple fact of the role he played during the pandemic to ensure that kids that relied on school lunches got fed. I would personally exhaust all available avenues to keep him at United and return him to the form he's capable of. Maybe that's already been done though and if he himself isn't interested in United anymore (I'm not certain that's the case), then it's an easier decision to make.

That said, I recognize the advantages of selling him in January. His value now is almost definitely lower than say 2 years ago. But January is usually a good time to sell because there aren't many sellers and buyers are likely more desperate/willing to pay to add a piece if they feel it could push them to a title. Plus he's English, with a big name, and he's 27 which are all positive traits if you're selling. If United are going to commit to Amorim, they need to turnover about half of their roster and selling Rashford could be a logical first step in doing so.

But would Ratcliffe be willing to sell him to say, Arsenal, in order to maximize his value? Or does he rule out any direct rivals thereby undercutting his value (direct rivals are the only English clubs who could afford him but clubs like PSG aren't going to pay a premium just because he's English)?

Maguire in discussions for a new contract. Wild considering he was 95% out the door two summers ago. Wilder that him getting a new contract might actually be a good thing. If it wasn't a long extension (he's 31) and done at a reasonable price, it would make a lot of sense...especially if his performances in a back 3 continue to be more often good than bad.

it definitely feels like leaving Garnacho and Rashford off the lineup was in part to smoke out a leak. Only Amorim and the top brass at United know.

but, i would be so happy if we are able to finally put an end to this crap. as Goldbridge said, He's tired of United being Players FC. It is far past time that the club comes first.

Eric Wynalda was talking about Maguire yesterday. Said he's shown as a player for England that if you put him in the right situation and get his confidence up then he's a good player. That's been one of Wynalda's biggest talking points in the past often in relation to the USMNT. Stop trying to fit players into a system if they do not fit. You either adjust the system or you should move the players on that do not work for you.

The stuff about the leaks is very Twitter rumor mill centered. I certainly don't think the team sheet leak came from Garnacho's camp because it was posted by Luckhurst of the MEN, and he's been very critical of Garnacho.

Well, Rashford has said in an interview with Henry Winter that "he's ready for a new challenge and the next steps" and I'm pretty sure he wasn't referring to playing out of his preferred position in a 3-4-3.

"When I leave it's going to be 'no hard feelings'. You're not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That's me as a person."
