I just do not understand how LFC has not even offered Salah a contract. Could just be all talk/contract speak, but Salah gave an unprompted interview after the game saying he was "more out than in." He doesn't usually mince words and is quite honest with anything he puts out publicly. It is so clearly evident that Salah is currently at the peak of his powers and is giving us his best output this season that he has ever had in a Liverpool shirt (or ever). 22 goal involvements (12 goals + 10 assist) is an unreal return. I read somewhere that he has been involved 16 of Liverpool's 24 goals in the Premier League, just over two-thirds.

I understand FSG and their data-driven/"Moneyball" approach in being cautious to give players in their 30s long-term contracts, but times have changed in the last 6-8 years. Some athletes just transcend this model and will be outliers in your analytics. Mo Salah is an enigma to these analytics. He is not slowing down and can potentially keep this up for another 3-4 years and I would not bet against him that he can sustain it into his late 30's. He is a specimen who's nutrition and exercise regimen is second to none.

He is a difference maker, an exceptional leader, and they guy we count on to show up for us when it matter most. We were pretty dreadful this weekend and not capitalizing on Man City's recent performances would have been a shame. So I actually agree with AG@RICE, Salah is sending a message. The fans are increasingly getting louder with their message to the owners. Pay the man already! (And then sign VvD and TAA.)

At this point, I'd rather sign Mo than Trent. Mo is not replaceable.

However, this is contract speak for sure, but he's using it as a hurry up and sign me idiots moment. The contract is not "offered" until the terms have already been agreed to by the two sides. He knows that, but he also knows that most fans don't know that...He's using the media now to get this done. I think this is done by Christmas.

Gagree. Athletic article made it clear they've all been in negotiations. I'm 90% certain VVD gets done 50% certain Mo does and knly about 15% certain Trent does.

That's how I feel too. Mo and VVD have to be the priority. I'm fine with Trent leaving because it's easier to replace a RB. Goal scorers and CBs like VVD are extremely hard to find…and harder to sign.

The best part is when VVD comes over with a giant smirk on his face.

The longer this goes on, the bigger risk FSG has of causing true turmoil. I think the fans will start bringing increasingly more aggressive banners directed at the owners.

This is one of the reasons Klopp pushed Edwards out the door: the failure to acknowledge how negotiations will disrupt team chemistry. Saving a couple million pounds doesn't mean a thing when your stars are disgruntled and your fans are pissed.

Slot is happy to let Edwards cook at the moment, but I wonder how he must truly feel knowing that he might have to start next season without his two best players.

I think all of the pressure will eventually make Edwards fold, but part of me is worried that he views this as his legacy moment. He might be too hungry to demonstrate his individual brilliance by "remaking" the team once again.

I agree with this as well. David Lynch (pretty reliable source ...depending on your opinion ) does too--on the negotiating part and working things out as he clearly wants to stay. That said, it's still a problem/concern that it has gotten to this point where Salah feels he has to do this. And this is FSG we are talking about along with above mentioned Edwards and analytics part....so no one is going to feel comfortable until this is done or not.
