It's funny you should say that... Did you watch spurrier's press conference when he left Scar? He said the very thing we are hoping for. He would be interested in an OC position somewhere. He is interested in coaching still, but not as the head coach of Scar. He felt he did all he could and it was time to let someone else have a try.

Put that with how sumlin talked about him in the PC yesterday... It seems not so far fetched if you ask me. He could come in and assist, but not be the OC. There are lots of options that let Spav off and we still get both. I don't believe coach will fire spav. Not for two rough games against well thought of teams.

See, at first I thought the same thing, but not if he posts the picture right now, if it's time stamped to right now with today's date, he can't doctor that because he can't post a picture in the past. But there's really no need for the whole newspaper thing.

Hahaha, yea, definitely NOT about two rough games. We've won several games IN SPITE of Spav. He just doesn't know what he's doing. Not in this league.

I hope Rojo knows something, but even if he doesn't, I don't need him to prove himself. The distraction from the season, and entertainment value of this thread, has been worth the price of admission alone.

Be prepared then. There's a good chance Spurrier will be in College Station for the game. And for no other reason. With an 11:00 start though, doesn't give him much time to get a quick nine in.

Quite the contrary, his pride is why he left SC before the season was over. He hates losing.

I'm not sure why he'd come here. He can stay out east and play golf every day. He's got nothing left to prove.

Only reason he'd be an OC is because he'd want to be part of a team. He said he'd miss that. I don't think he'll ever do it because OC is more than calling plays and game planning. But, I suppose it's possible.

My guess is that Spurrier will come running out with the Gamecocks on Saturday. Then he'll hit Shawn Elliott with a folding chair and run over to our side, where he takes over OC duties.

So, anything to rule out that "OC" means "offensive consultant" not "coordinator"? Spurrier specifically said at his press conference that he might " coach HS or be a consultant for somebody."

Not to overly feed the troll, but isn't it possible that spav stays as a recruiter and "OC in training" and Spurrier gets to just design the scheme and play calling? Wouldn't that be the ideal situation for Sumlin?

You don't have to get rid of the guy who up until now has been recruiting pretty well (and I imagine they are friends to some degree) and you bring in a big name to appease your overlords and fans.

If we're reaching into the heavens and hoping to come down with a slam dunk, wouldn't this be it?

I didn't mean to insult anyone personally. I was joking about Spurrier's infamous golf obsession. And how much it might figure into his job location decisions.

When he took the Redskins job, he golfed where the Presidents (who golf) often do. And DC isn't far from several other very nice courses in Virginia and Maryland.
