We don't need to let this go. This isn't about the twitter posting, that was just the final straw. It opened a lot of people's eyes to what they have been writing about A&M for years now.

If a publication or any other organization goes against Texas A&M, then we can go after them to return the favor. It's self defense from the message they are sending recruits and football fans. If they are hurting us, then we should fight back.

It wasn't an honest mistake and I don't think apologizing should be considered a "get out of jail free" card.

It has been a pattern with this publication and this writer in particular. Today's tweet just simply brought everything more to light.

The apology was a step in the right direction; before we allow you to leave, however, this 'Travis' must present himself before this forum (via YouTube), put his head between his legs, and kiss his own arse -while displaying the "hook 'em" hand signal.

I always felt DCTF was too slanted towards the sips, but its been a 'tradition' of mine to buy a copy every year to take on summer vacation and read pretty much cover-to-cover to gear up for the upcoming season.

For me, the tweet and now seeing the Manziel article just puts an exclaimation point behind the obvious bias of the rag. Even if Travis made a 'mistake', it doesn't excuse the years of bias in articles that are reviewed by other DCTF staff.

Someone will have to tell me if the rag ever writes something positive about A&M. I'm done with DCTF.

A stupid tweet is one thing -- many publications try to be edgy (and often fail) online. That's forgivable. But if you see a common thread in longer articles, by all means stop buying if you're bothered by it.

I've been a customer of theirs for 26 years. I've considered not buying it in recent years because TexAgs is much better for the info I want. They just gave me a good excuse to say, "Adios, MoFo!"

The statement was made as an insult and slap and the reason he apologized becuase he got called on the carpet for it. If it was a t.u. losing the recruit, their would have been an expose on how wrong the recruit was for switching to another school. But since it was A&M, "levity" and "witticisms" are the next best thing.

This is just another instance of someone speaking out of true character and conviction into a public forum. Then, rather than claim ownership, the message was "just misconstrued" and "we're sorry if anyone took it the wrong way". Not at all the first time for this Austin rag.

The only "error" they think they made is in letting it get out how much they despise Texas A&M.

You don't "fix" this by implementing some policies to ensure that your bias is not revealed so blatantly.

If there is any fix, it's fire the person who did it to show that you have zero tolerance for any "journalist" or writer that can not maintain even the semblance of neutrality.
