This guy was a class behind me in high school. His life of crime is nothing new. His arrests in Walker County alone go back two decades.
When I was DA in rural west Texas I had a few of these cases, but only one that lead to a death.Al Bula said:

I always tried these to a jury and let the citizens decide what should happen to these criminals. I trusted the citizens in my jurisdiction to do the right thing.
One of these cases the father received 85 years from the jury. In the others they all received Life sentences.
I don't know if I would trust the citizens of Harris County to do the right thing now. But that is why it is so VERY IMPORTANT for people like the ones who read this thread to show up and do their civic duty by serving on a jury.
