So are TeleDeputies linked up with community service officers who are out in the field now?

Like drone operators sitting in Las Vegas?

JWEB is discussed around 2:55. Several judges, Court manager and County Clerk Burgess all speak against Court action stating discussions haven't been in good faith and have been disingenuous. The judge states some actions have been illegal.

More discussion in 3 weeks.

Teledeputy is funded via 1 time ARPA funds. So this will end when funds run out. For class 3 calls and lower, the point is ability to file without an officer being present. Doesn't impact priority 1 & 2 calls. 5-0

Future presentation on sherif Use of Force policy to use best practices.

Item 12, Resolution for National Breastfeeding Awareness month. Director of Public Health & Commissioner Briones refer to women as "Birthing Persons", Ramsey corrects them to call them women or moms. Some debate to be inclusive. Ramsey refuses to endorse #12 over the use of the term "birthing persons".

Lunacy.

Of course Lina is MIA having had a mental breakdown.

Public speakers are beginning.

Mark Sloan, Emergency Management, I'm assuming he's speaking as Lina is the head and now MIA. And that's what he's discussing their preparedness is committed to being ready to rock and roll.

76 members are signed up to speak for the entire agenda. 1 min ea.

From last week's court, the Harris Election Office is no mote per state law. It's moved back to the Couty Clerk and Tax Office (I think).

Not sure what's happening with Tatum or the lawsuits.

They're also passed a resolution to explore adding Veterans Day and Election Day to create 2 new county holidays, pending the results of an analysis of the fiscal impact.

Tax discussions are starting up as it gets close to the Tax Hearings. This is important as a quorum of 4 is needed. With Hildago is out, Ramsey can bounce and they can't pass a new Tax rate, which would force the no new revenue rate.

1st up is the Health District. I'm not going to get deep into it as it's too complicated. Essentially they want to expand Ben Taub, which I believe has to happen as the county population has exploded. And hospitals are expensive.

Since there are 5 on the Court, I thought a quorum only requires 3?

She was basically a Republican before she ran for DA and had to move herself to the left to get elected. Anything she's done that seems to fit what y'all describe as a liberal agenda has been solely for the purposes of re-election. If she thought she could have been elected as a lesbian Republican in Harris County, she would have run as a Republican.

For those that live in areas that hire Sheriff or Constable patrols and want to keep that service, the liberals on the court are trying to take those programs away or make them substantially more expensive. We had to fight this two years ago. Not sure why they keep attacking a program that both side of the political aisle use and love.

this a gift from Obama:
1. Forced settlement of criminals next door to you because "diversity"
2. Remove penalties for crime
3. Remove law enforcement
- through psychological warfare like "All cops are bad" BLM trash
- severe penalties for LEOs doing their job
- judicial activists like Nat Cornholio
- defund LE programs (like the quote post)
4. Enjoy your cultural enrichment!

On today's court, item #26.

5 year strategic plan. And they're pulling examples from Deep Blue cities. HC continues to lurch left. Passes 4-1.

Includes a "retreat" for strategic planning session.

Run by County Administrator Diana Ramirez, tu and Princeton grad.

From my lay mans understanding there is certain business that has to be discussed and approved in an open meeting, but not all business does. Work happens behind the scenes before the meetings.

I just finished watching court. She had all the precincts against her. That takes a lot of effort. She was near meltdown several times in the last session of '23.

Amazing to see so many arguments when the court is stacked 4-1. And it's the 4 arguing against each other more often than not.

Most of her beef today was that commissioners are awarding RFPs to their "campaign donor" buddies through the RFP process. Exactly what she did with the 4M COVID grant. All 4 smacked her down.

She wants a central committee to award across the precincts and essentially cut them out, which probably means she wants more control herself. Although that is speculation on my part.

Tell me you're a young ideologue with no real world experience without telling me you're a young ideologue with no real world experience.

I'm sure in her perfect world her "Central Committee" would be completely infallible and would never be swayed by their political views, personal connections/relationships, etc.

I'm sure she truly thinks that communism and socialism just haven't been done correctly in the myriad of places that they've failed miserably.
