Been thinking for years that it would make a good bar.
Kind of similar to this...has anyone seen this old abandoned "for sale" car wash next to Live Oak Grill on Hempstead Hwy in Spring Branch East? Location might suck currently, but something like this could make a pretty sweet bar/ice house.

Also, check out Tacos Dona Lena. A lot of hype, but they deliver. Admittedly I've only had the Gringo Tacos.

I havent been impressed with the new 7 Tacos, which is unfortunate bc its dangerously close.

7 Taco seems to be the same outfit / management its been since it opened. They just changed the name again (from Tornado Burger to Tornado Taco to now 7 Taco). Good breakfast tacos, everything else is pretty meh.

Yeah, not the best rendering...

but clearing out that crappy tire shop on that corner will be a big deal and then that old gas station on the other side of the street is getting renovated too. Will be a nice draw moving forward.

Your right, it is the same group as before. It has been going downhill and I've gotten to the point that I won't order from them anymore.

We always thought the burgers were just okay. We're hitting Buffburger if we want burgers, or more realistically these days, Whataburger since the 3 year old likes it more than Buffburger.

Went Saturday. Had brisket, ribs, sausage, for the table. And we each ordered an entree. Good stuff, albeit pricey for Long Point.

Yesterday afternoon around 3:15 I was driving southbound on Gessner going to Kirby Ice House and ran into standstill traffic. Finally inched forward to Emnora Lane on the west side and it was a flowing river and the right lane of Gessner from Emnora to Spring Woods high school had curb deep water. Did that thunderstorm drop that much rain yesterday?

I live just north of 290 off of Gessner and it rained hard, but for a very short time and only puddled up a little.


Kirby Ice House there is really nice. First time to go in there. Since our new office is almost ready there at CityCentre, will be stopping by more often.
I was in the room here one day... watchin' the Mexican channel on TV. I don't know nothin' about Pele. I'm watchin' what this guy can do with a ball and his feet. Next thing I know, he jumps in the air and flips into a somersault and kicks the ball in - upside down and backwards... the dang (sc) goalie never knew what the hell hit him. Pele gets excited and he rips off his jersey and starts running around the stadium waving it around his head. Everybody's screaming in Spanish. I'

If you looked down Hammerly between Beltway 8 & Gessner it looked like it was completely underwater. Gessner was a mess.

Back when I lived in the Dirty Branch they flew over my house like a Southwest 737 on a regular landing at Hobby. I really liked it at night when they'd hit my yard with a spotlight like I was really living in a rough area.

Yep. Back when I lived there, the HPD chopper was essentially our white noise machine.

Ha that happened at my neighborhood off bunker hill like a month ago. Circled for at least two hours. Even got the complimentary cop car slow roll & spotlight. Turned out an off duty cop got shot nearby.

I view the new Feges as a restaurant with BBQ, not a BBQ joint...if that makes sense. They have a lot more than brisket and ribs. And they are open for dinner. I like Patrick, I like what they are doing, and the food is good, albeit pricey. I'll go and continue to go because it's down the street. But for a pure BBQ experience, I'll head elsewhere. Glad to have them in the hood, though.

That's fair. I may give at another go but it's tough to pay those prices when I could go to Pinkerton or Roegels and know what I'm getting quality wise.
