I didn't think Lazy Oaks was that bad. $5 pints. I typically hop between them and 4J since I live in between them. I get Cobble & Spoke charging those prices since they sell only small-brewery beers you can't pick a 6 pack of for the price of a pint/snifter.

Whoever decided to time the Witte closure with the Gessner construction needs to be hauled to the Dirty Branch town square and hung.

That coupled with not timing the new light at the car wash with the feeder light at Gessner.
The other day the traffic due to the cluster fck on Gessner was backing up and blocking the feeder intersection and the feeder from Bunker Hill to Gessner was a stand still. Took me 30 mins to get from the Bunker Hill Academy through the light at Gessner.
The best part was seeing people bob and weave through the logjam at all costs to get to Witte thinking they can through.

Traffic at westview and bunker hill almost extends all the way to Witte... any end in sight? Everything coupled with holiday shopping in the area has been a headache.
While I'm excited to celebrate the birth of Christ tomorrow celebrating the return of somewhat normalcy to the intersection of 10 and Gessner will be a close second.
Had to do some final clean stuff at the rent house we moved out of behind CostCo and I do not miss that traffic. (But Blalock makes it bearable)

Lazy Oaks had some pretty good beer specials during the Astros playoff games. But I'm looking forward to seeing how Kirby Ice House and Mias turn out over there. I'm ready for this area to develop a little faster than it has. Would be nice to have a few less tire shops and maybe a decent coffee shop or a nice restaurant.
I only visit the Blue Lagoon on Friday's for the Karaoke of course haha

Went to Lazy Oaks recently and had a horrible experience with the service. It was just all around unpleasant. I don't think I'll be coming ask for a few months.

Yep. Moved back about a month ago and don't miss Bunker Hill traffic. But I do miss walking to CostCo.

Lmao, the no habla apartment dwellers by me started on the mofuggin 23rd of the month. Used to piss me off, now I just laugh and hope the interspersed pistol round doesn't fall on my house.
Call me crazy but this didn't seem as bad as last year or the 4th. Granted I had two very loud white noise machines going.

Not sure about how well that will do. I've always liked their food and the price point is good, but to me this is a work time tunnel destination, not something I would go to outside of work.

I used to work downtown and would eat in the tunnel location 2-3x a week. It's hard to make it downtown for lunch anymore so this will be good for people like me who like their food but don't have the opportunity to go during the week.
I too wonder how well Treebeards will do outside of a Downtown lunch. I like it for a quick and easy lunch with a good price point but not sure it would ever be a destination dinner spot. It's kind of like Cafe Express to me. Maybe that's a need in this area though as there's really not much of it.
In related news Lupe Tortilla will be expanding into the old Kobe sushi joint next door. They're going to put in more tables obviously but also a bigger bar.

It'll do just fine there.
It's within walking distance of that business complex with Nexen, Murphy, Air Liquide, and all that so it'll get decent weekday lunch traffic.
It'll be a good spot to grab casual lunch of the weekends. They'd be smart to include a weekend brunch menu.

Lived across from downtown location, and because I saw a picture of cheese in their red beans I never ventured in. Seeing that was the first picture on that article it looks like I'll never visit this location.
