don't have gauges but I bet 2" max. Maybe 2.5 in some areas. It was never a turd floater but a steady rain and very light at some points. Maybe 4-5 hours of that.

It didn't really start until about 7am and was very light overnight. It did rain steadily from 7am-2pm but was never really pouring.

Not only that, but after a VERY hot summer, we may not get out of the 80s the rest of August, and have a week to go. And if we do, it will only be by a degree or two.

I'm sure we'll see 90s before the end of the year, though. Then again, maybe not.

This water will actually flow to Lake Livingston and be Houston's water supply.
After seeing what all stacked up along White Rock Creek afterwards, I'm totally fine with that.

Not very accurate. The Tarrant Water District owns Cedar Creek and Richland-Chambers, which are in that drainage area.

Trinity flows out of Cedar Creek from the southwest side... If the damn is open, water is headed towards Houston.

What a misleading tweet. Lots of the north Texas area saw significant relief due to these storms.

Exactly. The major flooding happened in Dallas but there was a ton of rainfall that will flow into Dallas and Tarrant water sheds.

The highs the rest of the week are in the 90s.

Yes, but the Tarrant Water District reservoirs are now all at 100%, so suggesting they're losing something due to water flowing down the Trinity is misleading.

Also east texas. Parent's got 7in out at Lake Fork which feeds Dallas. Not to mention Ray Hubbard right on East Dallas's doorstep which got most of the rain.

That's a very cherry picked tweet.

Here's a breakdown of what feeds who:
