With some of the responses on here and the overall theme of this thread, why on earth would he want to admit who he was, where he worked, or what his profession is if he even slightly was in favor of Flock? Trying to talk down to someone for not wanting to get doxed is a little ridiculous…

I don't blame him for not wanting to dox himself. I was pointing out the absurdity of the statement that he isn't hiding behind an anonymous username.

What's even richer is when those who want to have as much info on us as they can have, don't want to be exposed. Real rich. If you proudly support surveillance say it with your chest, don't hide.

I don't want to be doxed either...especially when someone who might abuse the information or doesn't care about my rights & might use the info.

Literally 99% of the people who are anti FLOCK are complaining because it is state sponsored (tax payer funded) surveillance. Maybe 99.9%

I just think it's rich that a person is OK with state sponsored surveillance wherein millions of people have access to the data but want to hide behind a screen name on Texags. Remaining anonymous on a message board affords luxuries not afforded other places, you can hide behind a screen name and say whatever you want without risk of consequences. I do not want my tax dollars spent surveilling me, I am not a criminal, I am a law abiding citizen and that citizenship comes with rights outlined in this country's founding documents and supporting amendments.

Well it was flagged for some reason so my little bro had to get interrogated and all of the effects of the vehicle pulled out, and then left in disarray for him to deal with. Officers said they were just doing their jobs and that the vehicle coming from the valley was suspicious. This whole FLOCK mess has quickly gotten out of hand. We are citizens not prisoners

That's terrible. Sounds like he might have grounds for a lawsuit. At this point, the officers just doing their jobs, should know the system is unreliable. Or if he was targeted for his travels, the recent Bexar county case ruled that was not ok.

Or maybe contact a news agency. Or both.

"Just doing their jobs" is not a justification for abusing the Constitution and trampling on liberty.

First thing I thought of was the Bexar county incident. My little bro works for a commercial coating company based in HTX. The company vehicle he was driving was an SUV (GMC Acadia) FULL of sample cans. They pulled out and checked every, single, one. Then left him on the side of the road to deal with it. The ran the drug dog through all of it and he said were visibly disappointed the drug dog did not find anything. Probable cause you might ask? The car had been in McAllen earlier in the day, I known drug smuggling area.

My little bro has Walter Payton disease (primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC)). He was a 6'2" 245lb tight end that now weighs around 150#. It makes me furious to think he was treated that way when his condition makes it hard for him to even work. This dude is refusing to take disability and continuing to work because he doesn't want to be a drain on society and he gets this treatment. Law abiding citizens do not need to be treated like criminals, we have a presumption of innocence under the law.

But our local police departments would never do misuse Flock.

We have been assured.

This is exactly what happened with a guy from San Antonio. He sued and won. The whole "WhatsApp" law enforcement network was uncovered in discovery.

Looks like the police really learned their lesson there.

Since some of y'all are specifically calling me out: I go back to what I said previously "Those actions are where I foresee rules/policy/laws being written to better govern/place guardrails. I believe an actual offense needs to be being investigated." I personally don't believe a roadside traffic stop violation should be used to see if someone came from the border. What is the reasonable suspicion that a crime is about to occur, is occurring, or has occurred.

Regarding police officers getting fired or arrested: I believe that absolutely should be occurring with the misuse.
