Well if something crazy happens at least they'll have the license plate of who did it.Hornbeck said:
They got a bunch of money in grants to start with.
This last round, there were no grants because the governor put a stop to it.
So, this last round of $300k came out of the $500k contingency fund that the city has.
So, 60% of the contingency fund now gone. If something crazy happens, that money is already spent.

I'd be interested in knowing how much the city has spent on Flock cameras since day one, and how many cases were solved using Flock data since day one, so there can be a $ per case solved number.

That's the wrong approach. When the Chief of Police used those stats, he was intentionally disingenuous.
You compare the number of cases with Flock vs. the number of cases prior to Flock. For example.
In six months without Flock - College Station solved 10 cases of stolen cars.
In six months with Flock - College Station solved 13 cases of stolen cars.
Then you decide if 3 extra additional cases of stolen cars is worth the money.

Your brother might want to contact the attorneys at the Institute for Justice that handled the Bexar County case.
Amazing that these officers all know about the recent ruling and couldn't care less. They just do whatever they want, with no consequences. And if you sue them and win, they still don't care because it doesn't come out of their wallets. Needs to be a law that if a department loses a case concerning a constitutional violation, the money should come directly from that departments budget. That might get the decision makers attention. Not because I want them to have a reduced budget, but because nothing else seems to phase them.
