That's a great buck! Looks like you were hunting some nasty blowdown.

I'm surprised there aren't sheep in any of those photos. Seems like they were herding them back out from that river valley every time I've been up there.

Sheep are down river and in the valley now. We are all thinking a big snow is coming so every animal is at winter grazing even though no white stuff on the ground yet. Rut just kicked off and it is nothing but fighting bucks and noses to asses.

I don't have a deer tag for the first time in a while, something got messed up with our landowner vouchers this year, but some friends benefited. A buddy killed a buck I didn't want breeding to kick things off.

Hannah, high school senior, found a really cool buck the same evening.

Kristyn, also in her senior year, was the most patient, and found a stud of a buck.

My wife is still looking for her buck, but after killing a bull, our freezers are pretty full, so we are not that concerned.

What part of CO again? Those last 2 are some stud bucks. A giant mule deer is my white whale.

Near Crawford, CO. Unit 63. These are great bucks, but smaller than some we have killed in the past. We usually look for 180 plus for trophy bucks. Both of these are mid 170's. There is a lot of mass on Kristyn's buck that doesn't add to the score, but makes it a really cool buck.

Those are great bucks.

That giant forky (I'm gonna ignore those brows) is something else!

Nice bucks! Looks like everybody had fun hunts. Those last two pics are crazy. Same deer, but he looks 160" in the first pic and 185" in the second pic. Great mass carried throughout. Beautiful deer! Great character on Hannah's buck.

I'm with Hannah. That's a hell of a unique, awesome, old ass mule of a buck!! I wouldn't even care what it scored!

I know Kristyn's buck is the definition of a trophy mule deer, but Hannah's is just awesome!

I think they are both cool in their own way, but Hannah's buck is at most a 4 year old. Kristyn's is 5 or probably 6.

Reality, it doesn't matter, because both these girls broke out tin a face consuming grin whenever I mentioned their buck.

He green scored 174 and 5/8. He had a lot of mass that he carried high, that did not help him score wise, but the hunter really didn't care.
