I know there are big bulls in the breaks. Guy I work for shot a 360" up there. They also have some really good bighorns. Something about that area accelerates how quickly they can get to B&C.
Last year for cardio I did a half marathon plan + walking hills with a heavy pack 1-2x for week. Goal for cardio was for a 5-6mile run to feel easy/routine and to get a couple double digit mile runs in. Felt very well prepared fitness wise and had no issues, but we weren't particularly high.ttha_aggie_09 said:
What about for cardio? I'm fully aware I'm going to get my ass kicked again (like always at that altitude) but I'm trying to figure what goal in training I should have. I've not had issues with lower body strength during the hunts so far, thank goodness.
What's a good goal you guys have had that you think helps with cardio?
I'm trying to figure out if it's a keep an X pace for 3-5 miles, be able to run 5-6 miles (or more) without stopping, hit the stair climber for X amount of time without stoppingā¦
Just curious what you guys have done and hoping I can change my approach this time.

I drew my dream NM Gila 2nd season archery tag. I already have 100 onx pins marked from buddies that have hunted in it the past and a pretty good game plan. I'm a DIY guy, but know this is my best shot at possibly getting my dream Bull and a guide would probably increase those odds.
Does anyone have any guides they'd recommend for the Gila? My main concern is the calling solo aspect. I do not need a lodge or anything fancy. At this point I'm going solo and truck camping. I plan on hunting the whole season if needed. Thanks for any leads or tips.

Welp... pulled my 3rd choice for Wyoming Elk - 49-4. Now if I can just remember why I picked it? I remember my 1st and 2nd choices well, but not this one for some reason. Looks like it's not great, but either way I'll still be happy to be outdoors.

Nephew didn't draw general WY elk with 4 points.
3 more of us had no luck in the random draw.
