Not aware of any guided wood duck hunts.

Everybody I know with good wood duck water is seeing very few birds. Even earlier in the season, it was way below normal. What was here, peeled out back before the freeze. I just got back from my place on the Navasota. About 5 acres of flooded brush. Saw 2. Last couple years that would have been 50-100. I might be able to help you out next season but already promised some to another member this season and not able to do that.

Longshot, but dad and i have a free morning in rockport saturday. Were going to wade fish but looks like duckin weather. Guide recommendations?

I hunted with this outfitter in November and was not impressed.

Dang I hate to hear that did you hunt with Brandon? We run in t he same circles of hunting groups. He has sublease some of our stuff during teal season and he seemed to know his stuff.

Yes, hunted two days with him and his BIL together, then hunted the last day with his BIL. I don't doubt that Brandon knows his stuff. His BIL on the other hand.......... It could have been his cousin. He is related to Brandon somehow and was very green to hunting the coast.

Don't let him lie to you, I had to talk him into getting it mounted. I still remember picking it up. We asked a lot of people and the general consensus was a widgeon cross. One guy sent it to some big duck biologist guy up north and he thought it was a widgeon as well but thought there was pintail in the line. Who knows. It looks cool as hell.

Badass gadwall. Have seen them with purple head late in the season.

I really like the tan neck band!

I was hesitant to get it mounted because I was a broke college kid who could hardly afford going to the bar and buying steel shot.

The duck actually has some nice purple and green color on the head when it has some light on it. The only other ducks I'll get mounted would be a cinnamon or a nice pintail.

I've killed some sweet Gaddies that I wish I'd gotten mounted as they're my second favorite duck but damn that one is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!

Pretty solid morning. Nailed a 4 man limit but it took till about 9:45 or so. Mostly Green Wings and surpassingly no pintails.

I want to move back up there badly. Spending the morning shooting ducks and then going to the next field over to get after quail and pheasant is so much fun
