Yep. The 226 and 229 from that time were fantastic. I still have my P229 in 40 that I bought as my duty weapon in 1997. I have put 10-15k rounds through it and it is still dead on accurate and smooth as silk.

I paid $700 for the 229 in 1997...inflation calculator says that is $1,292.17 today.


Also carried a 229 my whole career and never had a jam.

I picked up a new carry piece Saturday.

G43x MOS

Went home and immediately ordered the following:

- Streamlight TLR-7 Sub
- Trijicon RMRcc
- Forward Control adapter plate
- Shield Arms 15 round mags, mag catch, and mag well.
- Tier 1 Concealed IWB Holster (not too many options for this gun/light combo for a lefty.

It'll be replacing the G26 that has been my EDC for the last 10 years.

Will add a picture once I get it put together.

I am kind of intrigued by that top all copper bullet in your pic. I have seen a couple before but haven't talked to anyone that has used it on an animal, have you? Does it perform like they claim?

I used a 10mm underwood extreme hunter bullet like the one you mentioned in the pic to finish off my axis a few months ago. Right through the base of the spine and I was really impressed by both the entry and exit wounds. Like really impressed.
