Hell's Bay.

Doc is correct, it is a Hell's Bay Biscayne, in fact both guides on the show were fishing Hell's Bays. Like I noted earlier in the thread both have since switched to Maverick.

Islamarine in Islamorada are the 'skiff specialists' for pretty much the whole skiff scene. They posted this picture on FB the other day of Bosso's skiff in to have a Power Pole installed. I think the caption would indicate the boat probably has a new owner.

The boys @ MHP couldn't stand to see those beautiful Hells Bay boats on TV every weekend! BTW, whoever was asking about a 10 WT, that's plenty of stick to whip'em up to about 90#'s, just takes a little longer. Sometimes ocean side in the Keys you have to go down to the 10 wt to get the bite.

As an aside, I posted this elsewhere but was interested in some comments on which is a better tarpon stick.

Hardy ProAxis vs. Sage Xi3?

I've got a decent Orvis rig- 12wt Hydros and Battenkill LA VI that I bought for $400 from a guy who bought it brand new and never used it. Line, backing, and the rod/reel would run about $700 new.

But, since Sage introduced the Salt they're blowing out the Xi3 so what was an $800 rod can now be found for $450. And the Hardy ProAxis is in the same boat.

I've cast the Xi3 in 8wt but never 12wt and the Hardy ProAxis (especially one-piece) is well regarded by a lot of hardcore tarpon guys. If I can get one for $400-$450 instead of $800 for the Sage One or the Salt I might pull the trigger.

Cast them both and see which one is a better fit for you. Both are excellent. Only issue with the one piece is storage and travel. The blowout on the Xi3 is hard to beat.

The ProAxis is a 4pc. And because they're on clearance they're not where I can cast them.

That was a great episode. Triggered some memories of fishing with my dad and brothers. I will never get tired of hearing a reel sing.

There's a lot of tarpon / fly fishing savvy here. Really makes my experiences handlining bass from an Academy/Shakespeare fly rod laughable.

The first season is over. We're on season 2 now.

Unless they just took a brief hiatus to split up season 1.

Hiatus, I have them all in a queued in the Watch Later section of my media server and they all say Season 1 in the title.

I think Centerpole said it was still season one they just split it up, I maybe mistaken. Either way definelty one of the best shows on right now.

Yes. This is all season 1. i think season 2 is either in the can or in production. There will be more.

A couple more shots because the season will be upon us soon. Can't wait.
