Made some last night for a New Year's Eve party. Had a lot of leftover cans of different types of beans so used those (2 cans black beans & 1 can navy beans) in addition to a can of pinto beans. Wife said they were as good as ever!

Fresh batch going with seranos and tomatoes picked straight from the garden.
Made these for Mother's Day for about 12 people. Only used 1 Serrano, turned out great. Lots of compliments. It's all about the Clamato.
Double batch tonight so we could freeze some. Two jalapeños (seeded) and a poblano each and added sausage. Fantastic as usual!
Just tried this recipe for first time and it was amazing. I went with a maple thick cut bacon and then dropped in some pre-cooked burnt ends. Great stuff. Coupled with some Shiner Oktoberfest I'm in a coma now.

It wasn't the liquid, it was that the beans made up less than half of the contents of the mix.
Maybe the onions and peppers around here are bigger than what y'all are used to.
It's beyond time to make them again. I made them the night before Christmas Eve dinner and reheated in the crockpot for serving which I'd never done before. They were extra good. I'm assuming that extra time allowed the flavors to completely meld together.
