Which package?

I am looking at the $50/month and want to know the final cost with taxes. We currently have Hulu Live advertised at $40, but final bill is actually $47

Taxes are like a typical purchase. You don't have the extra fees that the government gets with satellite or cable. Vue is/was $45/mo and final bill was like $48 ish.

Ok, so $50/month is probably $54. Thanks.

Anyone have input on Directv now?
All of the live streaming services have a 1 week free trial, and they are all priced competitively. None of them is perfect. Try those that carry the channels you want and pick the one you like best.

So, what is the cheapest way to get ESPN with SEC channel?

I presently have...
PSVue but will change due to the increase.
Netflix
Amazon Prime

I assume the only candidates are Hulu and Youtube.

I live in Baton Rouge area and local service is not an option.

NM...local games aren't a part of it.

It looks like Hulu TV is the only streaming service that offers locals in my ZIP code. It offers ABC, CBS, and Fox here. This service would cost me $39/month when I'm currently paying $60/month for DirecTV with HBO included. Not sure if it's worth the jump only to save that small amount of $$

Those that use Hulu TV...
- Do you have buffering issues?
- How well does their DVR work?
- Any other issues?

Who is your cell provider? We have AT&T and were able to switch to a plan that gave us HBO Go for free (yeah right) and pay the same for the same unlimited everything.

My wife has AT&T and we are using that to get HBO for free currently on DirecTV. That makes leaving DTV a bit harder to do.

You can access it via the HBO Go app. You'll set up what's essentially a dummy Direct TV Now account and you can access it. Yeah, you won't be able to look at a guide and say "such and such is coming on at 7, so I'll watch it." It'll be all on demand.

2 questions for anyone who has dropped Xfinity/ Comcast cable tv in the Houston area recently:

What Xfinity internet package do you use? They appear to be the only high speed internet service available in my area.

And second, any current recommendations for streaming service? I need all ESPNs/ SEC Network, FS1 for football season at a minimum, and would like Root/ AT&T Sports network if possible (Astros and Rockets regular season games are not a deal breaker for me).

Don't think think you can stream ATT sports if you aren't already paying for U-verse or satellite.

To save money I'm thinking of going down a level on my cable internet from 100meg to 50meg speeds. Would I still be able to stream HuluTV at those speeds as well as keep my 3 Nest cameras rolling? It would save me an additional $30/month?

I don't know about the Nest cameras, but I was able to watch Vue on 50Mbps without any issues. I never tried multiple streams, but I think you'll be fine.

Man, ditch the Nests for no-subscription cams and that'll save you $30/month

Nest now has a $5/mo plan (stored 5 day history) so no need to ditch good hardware altogether just to save a few bucks. I love my Nest IQ Outdoor. No way I'd get rid of that.

No buffering issues.

DVR is fine, but only 50 hours for free version.

The UI is terrible for Roku, and NBC is not included.

Well I made the plunge. A DirecTV customer since 2006 switched to Hulu Live without much protesting from DirecTV. It's a sinking ship.

Have Youtube TV run through appletv along with netflix and amazontv. How would one go about getting a PPV fight this upcoming weekend? Can you buy PPV with a streaming option. Anyone know. Talking about the UFC 227 fight Saturday night

About to do the same. I got in on DTVnow and YoutubeTV when they first launched. I've kept them both for a year trying them out and enjoying the free Apple Tvs. I'm going to keep them both at $75/mo combined and still save over $100. Only concern is our internet has not exactly been reliable. My luck will be that during the Clemson or Bama game there will be an outage. I guess I could always stream from a mobile hotspot in that case.

I have their 1Gig speed for $93 a month after taxes with a 1 year plan. Just keep calling in until you find someone that will work with you.

We have decided to go with DirectTvNow using a FireStick, however our problem lies in the picture quality on our patio TV. Is there a way to extend or boost the range of the WiFi?

A WiFi extender?

Unrelated: Not sure how I missed this, but I had no idea you could bundle Spotify and Hulu for $12.99/mo. It's not available with Spotify family plans, only the $9.99 single user plan, and you only get the Hulu $7.99/mo "limited commercials" plan, but it's still a pretty good deal. I already pay for the $8 hulu plan and Apple Music, so i think it makes sense for me to switch to this and save $5/mo.

Today I sent back all my DTV receivers and cords. That technology seems so dated now and I only cancelled a week ago. So far I'm really digging my Apple TV connected to Hulu Live (the only streaming service with locals in my area). Since my wife is an AT&T customer we get HBO streaming for "free" via HBOGO. Since we were paying $11/month for Hulu anyways the $39 Hulu Live service is really only costing us $28/month.

The PSVUE DVR doesn't seem to be a true DVR service. Our shows that we set to "record" aren't available until the next day. So If we record a show while we are out at dinner then come home we can't watch it until at least the next day. Basically it's like on demand, and we can't skip commercials.

Have YouTube tv. It's great but I the need the nfl channel. I don't think they have a standalone offering. Would love RedZone too.

Any suggestions?

I don't have that problem with my dvr with psvue. I can watch and skip commercials right away. The only thing is if the show is from a on demand station then it's still on demand but a lot times those don't have many commercials
