I really, really enjoy this game and would recommend to anyone on the fence. Going through downtown Boston and seeing many of the famous buildings in the north end, theatre district, financial district, etc and seeing what fallout has done with them... Is really awesome. Also, to have so much detail into cities like Lexington, concord, Salem, etc is just great. Yes, there are bugs, but I surprisingly haven't come across a ton so far (although the game has crashed a couple times). I have about 25 hours or so of gameplay (I took off Tuesday and Wednesday from work cause I wasn't really busy) and I'm really surprised at how few bugs I've run into. The game looks great and I think a lot of people just haven't played fallout 3 in a while, cause the graphics seem a ton better to me...
Random things:
I like that they made deathclaws more deadly, but easier to maneuver around (you can actually dodge their hits, unlike in fo3).
Sneak is not nearly as OP as it was in fallout 3.
Hacking computer and picking locks are still the two most valuable perks
I've had a few "yes" or "no" answers that did not correspond to what my character said. The condensed wheel is a love/hate thing as I feel like I don't get as bored with the story, but sometimes the conversation doesn't go the way I thought it was intended.
A few things to dislike:
The VATS system changed a bit from fallout 3 and I don't really like it. I liked being able to plan my moves a little bit more in battle (almost like dragon age), but with enemies continuing to move and attack (albeit at a slower rate), it certainly made it harder to really plan out and see how many enemies are attacking.
The benefits of Charisma are too damn high! To be fair, a lot of RPGs have this problem, but as you progress through the game, there really isn't a better SPECIAL to put points in and the perk tree is really good, too.
The building towns/establishing safe zones is a really neat part of the game; however, building houses is not functionally easy. A lot of the walls don't fit together at all (and building a corner is really hard because the game likes to lock walls in a straight line and so moving a wall you want perpendicular to another wall will cause the game to automatically "fix" it for you and put the wall parallel, not perpendicular), bushes can't be removed (but trees can?) and are often in the way (particularly in sanctuary hills), and pretty much anything as small as an ant pile can make land unusable for building something. I think a lot of work still needs to be done here.
The diamond city radio is terrible. Reused a lot of songs from fo3 and the host is just dreadful. Really wish they would have put more content on there, as I usually have it going while I play but I can only stand the same crap said over and over again for so much.
