What's a good Aggie clan for a low level town hall 7?

Aggies (clan tag: #P92QRRR) has town halls 7-10. It's almost level 6, has 87 wins, and has won 34 of its last 37 wars. It's almost all Aggies or friends of Aggies.

If I'm not mistaken, we are easily the winningest Aggie clan there is. If you join as a town hall 9 or 10, you had better be pretty good. As a 7 or 8, it's an ideal place to learn how to be really good. We war 3x per week, but we don't mind people taking time off. We currently have 45 members, but we usually war with 30 because our members have other commitments.

You have me interested in trying this out. Is there a beginner's guide you recommend? I looked online and saw differet rules on what to upgrade and when and I'm not interested in following a twelve year old's strategy into ruins.

OneHive produces the best instructional videos I've seen. They have a website & youtube channel. It'll turn you into a player. "Have more fun by sucking less," as they say. You can also click the "Strategy" tab at http://aggiesclash.webs.com for links to some of their most basic and useful videos.

Ol'Army Aggies and Hullabaloo are level 5. Aggies United! will be there soon.. Aggie 12th Man (with the same shield) is the feeder clan that does war sniping... there are no fake war records necessary for recruiting good players. There are 4 clans that are avaialble for your taste. We have just restructured the clans and moved players where they wanted to go. Come and check out the premier place for Aggies to raid fools and war.

We do support any clan that represents A&M and we encourage the creation of new ones, so other partnerships are avaialble. Come over and check it out to see if we can help each other out.

Fake war records? I'm the only one who mentioned a war record recently (34-3, although we tied a war since that time), so you may have been referring to me. Anyone here can join our clan, view the war log, and verify the record. If you have doubts that we could go 34-3, then I'll take that as a compliment.

It's cool that there are a bunch of Aggie clans with different goals and personalities that players can enjoy. Some groups farm, some are social, some war casually, etc. Aggies (clan tag: #P92QRRR) tries to be the winningest Aggie clan. For competitive players it's a great place to be.

New folks continue to post here asking what clan they should join. When they do I'll tell them which Aggie clan is the best, from a win-loss perspective. Folks from other clans post about whatever makes their group unique. It's repetitive, but the fact that people keep asking the question suggests they haven't read the whole thread and are looking for suggestions.

We know all about the clan you keep plugging in every message when people ask about the empire. We have people come here when they leave there. I'm proud of you though. How did you guys survive the Asian clan xmod cheating thing that lasted 2 months (seemingly)? We got close but couldn't win any of those for a few weeks.

We just restructured the clans to avoid the 30 TH9 wars where the lavaloon rules.

We didn't win 'em all either.

Lavaloon got a lot tougher with the last game update. The pups don't target the queen or enemy troops anymore. We're still adjusting. I find myself using a more golem/hog combos.

I'd love to land in an Aggie clan. Problem is I played the game extensively when it first came out and then took a 18 month hiatus and just came back. I'm a TH9 right now, and apparently that is a bad thing now. Any suggestions or recommendations on a clan would be appreciated!

Loki, look for the Aggies United!, Hullabaloo, Aggie 12th Man, Ol'Army Aggies consortium. We can find a place for you. I am currently in Aggies United. We have 21 members ranging from TH10 to TH7. War twice a week with a miniwar (10 person) thrown in for good measure.

Aglaw, we have also shifted to golem/hog for th9 attacks.. how many golems do you use and do you launch them with the intent of taking out AQ, or use another tactic?

Every attack is different. I know that's a non-answer, but you know what I mean. The Queen is a priority, but so is keeping hogs off the giant bombs.

Lots of good information. I didnt know about the mismatch from maxed cb/inferno towers. Too late on towers, but I will definitely hold off on lvl 4 xbow.

I'll have to give hullabaloo a shot soon. Ive been in a small clan for a lot time, but would like to get better and war more seriously. I'm TH10 and been pushing to get heroes up to lvl 20 each (at 15/16 at the moment). I had everything except walls and heroes maxed before i upped to TH10, so pretty good there, just polishing off units. just lack pekka and gob for max normal, and valk/minion for de units, hound upgrading to max now. Would love to join and help with donations until i get heroes up higher, that way i could also watch a lot of war attacks and see what tactics you guys are using. Handle is aggieaww05. Give me a few days and I'll leave after current clans war.

Agrams, sounds like your right on target for Ol'Army Aggies. Try there first and you/we can move you around where you like if it doesn't fit.

To my knowledge, no one has an official equation for war ranking. Reddit has had numerous threads about it, and of course there are many more in the Supercell forums, but here is pretty much the only thing Supercell said about it:

It is both intended and quite common that players with a higher TH are left out of a Clan War. The ranking is not based on TH level, it based on trophy count, and then the level of defenses. Check out the following explanation of how matchmaking should work:

The first x # of players go to matchmaking depending on their trophy amount and the position in the clan For example, in a 10v10 clan war, if one clan has 14 members, the 10 highest trophied members will be the ones to go to war.

Once a match is found, players are sorted on the map from strongest to weakest, in terms of defence power of their base, i.e., defense levels, hero levels, traps, etc.

We do not take TH levels into account. Instead, we only use overall strength of all defence elements in player's village. For example, a TH8 with higher level defenses than a TH9 will be ranked higher than the TH9 in the war map.

There is also a significant consensus that the "defence power of the base" calculation is as simple as adding up the gold cost for all the upgrades of each member. That would certainly explain the risk/reward dichotomy of things like x-bows.
